But in reality she is all messed up,damaged, insecure, shallow and full of flaws, her character is very realistic. Yes, she is not all that perfect, guess what nobody is, but what I liked is how her character turned out to be, it evolved over time and this book basically is about Lexi's personal growth. The more insidious impact of deepfakes, along with other synthetic media and fake news, is to create a zero-trust society, where people cannot, or no longer bother to, distinguish truth from falsehood. And when trust is eroded, it is easier to raise doubts about specific events. So far, we've seen one scene take place during spring semester (the fake AF arrest) and two scenes take place during spring break (the search party and The Ceremonial Burning Of The Beanie™). The scene with Jughead's dead body, however, did not have a time stamp – which is a bit sus.

Faking It is the perfect name for this laugh out loud Rom Com. I thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of it. When Lexi Shaw seduced Oakfield High’s resident bad boy Tyler Flynn at the beginning of senior year, he seemed perfectly okay with her rules: The only sunshine in her life was the family of the ex best frend of her mother who embraced her as her own member... Ella wanted to refuse, but she had recently lost her job and home, and deep down, she loved her sister despite everything. The plot not only focuses in romance but a large amount in family relationships too. Lexi has a hard-life after her drug addict father abandoned her and her mother. But she didn’t know that her mother lied about so many things related to her father who was still alive out there.I felt sympathetic towards her situation and I totally hated Lexi’s mother here, not only she wasn’t a good mother to her and the way she treats her is unacceptable too.At start I didn’t liked Lexi too who faked herself to get the attention of a guy I can understand she has gone through a hard life and her life isn’t perfect but still, she doesn’t need to build a fake personality of herself. Anyways, as the plot goes further I’ve started to like her more. Because inside of her she was far from perfect... She was even sleeping secretly for six months with Tyler, the boy with the bad reputation, but she had put him some rules, rules that lately Tyler didn't seem to follow and that irritated Lexi. She was just using him for an outlet, but lately Tyler asked for more... Oh and watch out for Marco! He and Ella become increasingly close, he's handsome, Smart, Fun, and a bit of a Con Artist, but all is not as it seems! Will he suss out Ella's secret? Between a love triangle and parent problems, a teenage girl learns the importance of loyalty and friendship over appearances in this coming-of-age story.

Toward the end, the book got better and better since Lexi started to accept herself for who she was which was really amazing. The ending was very realistic and didn't end in a way that made you feel that this can't happen in real life which was pretty amazing. Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley.)Overall the book was entertaining but it did have some things which I did not like so that's why I gave it a solid 3. Lexi Shaw keeps a perfectly pristine high school image. She never leaves home without a perfect appearance and always hangs out with the popular crowd. She’s even got a crush on the most perfect boy in school. Despite her obsession with perfection, her reality is far from it- what with an alcoholic mother, absentee father and a vice she can’t quite shake off (a.k.a. late nights with Tyler Flynn, resident bad boy). The UK’s Conservative party used similar shallowfake tactics. In the run-up to the recent election, the Conservatives doctored a TV interview with the Labour MP Keir Starmer to make it seem that he was unable to answer a question about the party’s Brexit stance. With deepfakes, the mischief-making is only likely to increase. As Henry Ajder, head of threat intelligence at Deeptrace, puts it: “The world is becoming increasingly more synthetic. This technology is not going away.” Donald Trump, who admitted to boasting about grabbing women’s genitals in a recorded conversation, later suggested the tape was not real. In Prince Andrew’s BBC interview with Emily Maitlis, the prince cast doubt on the authenticity of a photo taken with Virginia Giuffre, a shot her attorney insists is genuine and unaltered. Alright, are you looking for a laugh out loud, fun and lively romcom to take the winter blues away? I've got one right here from one of my favorite Boldwood authors, Portia MacIntosh.
