Madvillainy gets close to the genius seen on Quasimoto's Unseen, and like that record this one might take a few listens to find it. Breaking the mold in such a crazy bold way, odd rhythms and funny but thought-provoking lyrics that command attention, mad skills and otherworldly chills by the minute, mixing everything together to put out something enjoyable and truthful released to please millions by the ear-full. Madvillainy is most definitely one of the best Hip Hop albums ever made and MF Doom and Madlib came together to create something truly special and they both complimented each other absolutely brilliantly.

Or on "Money Folder", in which Doom starts off, "Don't mind me, I won't just rhyme lightly off of two or three Heinies," but flips beers to babes midway: "And boy was they fine, G: One black, one Spanish, one Chi-nee. compared to my digital files, the vinyl does not have as much punch but it is still a record I would play.

A wacky accordion sample loops throughout a slow-paced beat and lazy bassline while Doom flies through almost unaware of the background at times. In an era where too much unintelligent hip-hop is listened to by too many people, Madvillainy is a refreshing reminder of what hip-hop can do when it is done right! I found the 180gram to have less treble and it also lacked a high pitch tingy like sound that the MASTERDISK pressing had throughout.

My only real motivation for listening to this was that I really liked Operation: Doomsday, so I was interested to hear more of MF Doom's material. Madlib created one hundred beats in a matter of weeks, some of which were used on Madvillainy, some were used on his collaboration album with J Dilla Champion Sound, while others were used for M.Throughout their discography, they only released one album, that being this one released in March 23, 2004.
