Bump is round to oval shaped mid blue and designed after his accidents-having trait with his iconic accessory being the bandages around his head and midriff.Think I’m right in stating that as a boy I had all the pre-1990 Mr Men books with the possible exception of “Mr Snow”. Looking at all the covers apart from the latter jogged my memory. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. An accident waiting to happen! Poor Mr. Bump just can’t stop having accidents. If there was something for Mr. Bump to bump into, he'd bump into it all right.

In " Mr. Impossible's Lesson", both Mr. Snooty and him appear to be enemies with each other, after He forgotten the bread rolls for his BBQ, setting his tree on Fire, what's more is that Mr. Snooty was being very rude to him and Mr. Clumsy. Light purple tunic + dark purple top + white tights with purple and pink squares drawn on + purple/blue hair ribbon + toy tiger + plastic teacup 64. Violet Beauregarde – Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl Re-reading this as a child of forty five, I still had a blast. Poor Mr. Bump... at least he eventually managed to find gainful employment, even if it is seasonal work. Of course, with the wizard changing the Earth's axis in the last book, who knows what the seasons are like now in Mr. Man land?Mr. Bump tries hard to get a job but is so clumsy and accident prone that none of the jobs work out... until he uses his trait to his benefit and starts working at an apple orchard where he simply walks about and bumps into trees and catch the apples that get shaken out in the process. Brown top + brown bottoms + brown shoes + twig/leave headpiece + additional twig/leaves on outfit 74. The Paper Bag Princess – The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch Mr Bump is a little clumsy. Well, probably not clumsy in the sense that he keeps on dropping things but rather that his co-ordination is a little off – he keeps on bumping into things, tripping up, and causing things to smash. For instance, when he tries to fix something on his roof (which from the getgo sounds like an incredibly bad idea) he ends up breaking a bunch of windows (which means that he has then got to go around and look for the means of repairing them without actually breaking anything else).

He attempts to fix a loose chimney pot on the roof of his house, which goes horribly wrong when he tries to use a long ladder and ends up smashing all of the windows of his house. On account of his accident-proneness, he has been costed many jobs. As it turns out, the story is about how Mr Bump tries to find his place in society. The problem with being the way he is is that there are lots of jobs he can’t do. For instance he tries being a bus conductor but he falls off, the bus disappears, and all of the passengers get a free ride. So he does what any self-respecting person does in this situation – he goes on a holiday to find himself. Well, that doesn’t seem to work out, but he does end up with suitable job in the end, so everybody is happy. Wildlife - Gets poop on him by lazy flamingos, squashed by a lazy Great Cape Buffalo, and both eaten and spit out by a lazy Great White Alligator. Mall - Gets a ceiling plant falling on his head twice and flattened by the relaxing chair that Little Miss Calamity is sitting on.

The nephew loves these books. This was a fun little book and his first ones were just great. This book is older than me and still around and entertaining people so I have hope for myself. I think we all know someone like Mr Bump - an accident prone disaster waiting to happen. Sometimes their misfortunes can be amusing, as Mr Bump's ladder incident proves: my kids thought it was hilarious. Additionally, he can only be seen for a split-second in " Hats" when driving his car during Mr. Stubborn's plot. Spider outfit + toy pig 11. Turn a pumpkin into a Giant Peach – James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl Sightseeing - Falls off the escalator and crashes into pine trees, gets his feet burnt by the heat of lava.

His catchphrases are "Poopity-poop!" (Occasionally "Poopity-poo!" in the UK dub) (referring to his situation) and "You'll never learn!" (talking to himself). Green top + trousers + yellow belt + wings + red wig + elf ears + plastic shooter 27. Skellig – Skellig by David Almond Brown dress (ideally made out of paper) + crown 75. Amelia Earhart – Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls by Elena Favilli Green dress + green shoes with pom-poms + magic wand + wings World Book Day knight costumes 29. Tom – Beast Quest by Adam Blade

Dyspraxic hero, Mr. Bump, can't help getting himself into accidents. I can't believe this charming children's book is not almost 40 years old, I really enjoyed the original illustrations where the author's pen marks are visible in his lovingly shaped creations. Hargreaves died at the age of 53 following a stroke. After his death, his son, Adam, continued writing and drawing the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters with new stories (while signing the covers in his father's signature). Blue and white striped top + red and white polka shorts + white sun hat + white beard 21. Julius Zebra – Julius Zebra by Gary Northfield
