Where the guidebook shines for me are the spells for each plant, which means there are a whopping 44 spells included in this tiny book, plus the Magycal correspondences to create your own! I have a lifelong connection with exploring the many faceted properties of plants. Botanical, Mythological, Spiritual, Medicinal, Culinary, in fact our whole connection with the Plant World and through this rekindled the ancient tradition of Flower Reading, (Floramancy) Also a teacher of creative arts with a focus on environmental arts, I have enjoyed a 30 year commitment to also sharing my passion for Nature based traditions with a strong centre of environmentalism. By moonlight: set the cards in a windowsill or outside in direct full moonlight to charge by the moon’s rays

Plant Ally Healing Cards (Available here:https://www.etsy.com/listing/230930417/plant-ally-healing-cards-with-new-rigid) Some tarot readers like to draw an oracle card before or after doing a spread with tarot cards. Some like to use them in spreads on their own. Just like tarot cards, you can draw an oracle card every morning to meditate on throughout the day or whenever you feel like you could use a little guidance.Ask the person for an open-ended, self-centered question. An example is, “what else can I do to get the promotion at work?” The Tarot of Plants, Solar edition or Full Moon edition (https://www.etsy.com/listing/698126174/the-tarot-of-plants-full-moon-edition) And so on.It was frustrating to just choose a few, because I so badly wanted to learn about them all right away! Many of us have been spending more time at home during COVID. As an avid traveler, this took some adjustment on my part, but I've cultivated a cozy, clean, organized, geeky, witchy home where I truly enjoy being.

Flora Healing Restorative Cards (Available here:https://www.etsy.com/listing/678187464/flora-healing-o-restorative-cards-57) Besides general divination, which is obviously a great way to use the cards as well, another creative way you can use plant cards as a green witch is to help get to know more plants. It can seem like an impossible task when first discovering green witchcraft to get to know so many on a deeper level. It’s wise to ask your guides and the person’s guides to provide a message through the cards that is “for the highest good of all”. All of the methods you learned in the last step can be applied to reading oracle cards for other people. The only difference is that I typically recommend reserving the fanning method for your own personal readings. A couple things to remember when reading for others: This is in no way a complete list, there are just too many out there that I’m sure I have yet to discover. These are my personal favorites out of what I’ve seen so far and it’s a great list to get you started. My Art has featured in workshops, exhibitions, art prizes and publications internationally for the last 30 years. Working in Waste to Art Mediums and Mixed Media, I find that creating works that encourage others to look a little deeper at what is already here, encourages a greater care and understanding of our Earth and ourselves. Now lay all the cards face down. Shuffle them if there’s enough to shuffle, otherwise just mix them all up in whatever way works best. Now take some deep breaths, ground yourself, and allow your hand to hover over the cards. Choose whatever card you feel drawn to the most. You can choose to grow that plant if you wish, learn about it, drink it in tea (only if it’s safe to do so though!), wear it as perfume, make it into an essence or tincture, or carry a piece with you. However you wish to work with it is fine as long as you keep safely in mind. I’ve found when I’m being indecisive my subconscious usually knows what I need way better than my conscious mind does, so I love using this method to choose. Using Tarot and Oracle Cards to Plan your Garden Bury them: wrap them in cloth or put them in a bag and bury them in a bowl of salt. Alternatively, bury the cards in the earth (make sure it’s not going to rain!) OR in a potted plant.

With a crystal or stone: by laying a crystal or stone on top of your cards and storing them in a special box or bag, the crystal’s energy will consistently charge them. A few examples of crystals that I use: clear quartz, amethyst, lapis lazuli and selenite (extra tip: selenite is self-cleansing AND cleanses other items in its vicinity – double purpose!) If you’ve slept with your oracle cards under your pillow, this is a great way to develop that psychic connection. In addition, interview your oracle cards to get to know their energy better. There’s different ways of doing this, but essentially you’ll ask the cards different questions and pull one card per question for an answer:Now it’s time to learn how to read the oracle cards for yourself. The easiest method: ask an open-ended question, shuffle and draw ONE card. Take note of the FIRST thought or sensation that pops into your mind. Write it down. Then notice all of the elements of this card: the colors, theme, characters (if any), numbers, and messages written on the card. Is anything standing out to you? Sit with the card for a little while and meditate on its meaning. I also recommend keeping the card somewhere you can see it throughout the day. As for the guidebook, only reference it when you need extra clarification on a card. Shuffling & Spreads: One of my favorite parts to Feather’s Green Witch Living Class(if you haven’t taken Feathers course yet, I highly recommend it) was choosing our plant ally for the year. Your plant ally is one you learn about in depth throughout the year and form a relationship with. Plants have spirits too! Charging your oracle cards fills them with positive spiritual energy so they function best. This is the spiritual equivalent to plugging your phone into a charger. Re-charge your cards once a month if you’re using moonlight or another technique (besides crystal-charging, as this method is constant. See more below). Here’s a few ways to charge your oracle cards: On every card is the number at the top for guidebook reference, the elemental symbol, a key word, and the name of the plant (both common name and genus/species name). If the plant has an astrological correspondence, there is also a glyph of the zodiac sign. There are also little sketches of metaphysical objects that are related to the card’s meaning, such as a dreamcatcher for Marigold’s key word ‘Positivity’ and a sword for Fennel’s key word ‘Strength.’

Sometimes it’s the artwork or the messages on oracle cards that don’t match your energy. That’s okay too. As you move along your oracle-reading journey, you’ll find cards that will become your daily tool and others that you simply have as part of your collection. And if you really don’t like them, give them away. And remind the recipient to cleanse and charge them to align with their own energy. Step 1: Cleanse Your Oracle Cards (And Why It’s Important)When learning how to use oracle cards, remember to be gentle on yourself. You don’t have to be perfect and eventually you’ll develop your own techniques and styles. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
