Description

This DIY Christmas tree craft is another easy and affordable option. You’ll need a few paper plates, some paint or markers, and some tape or glue. Trace a tree onto a sheet of cardboard with your pencil. Consider the size and shape you'd like, and ensure that your tree is symmetrical. Keep in mind that to create one standing tree, you'll need three flat cardboard trees of the exact same size. Start by gluing the buttons together in the shape of a tree. Once the glue is dry, decorate your tree however you like! You could use paint, glitter, sequins, or anything else you can think of. The making is only half the fun. How will you decorate your Cardboard Christmas Tree? Here are a few of our favourites from Instructables makers:

Fold each tree in half. Create two slits in each tree on the fold, one high and one low on the tree. The slits should be less than half the depth of your cardboard circles (ours are 1.5"). If you’re using a saw, it’s really easy to layer 3 pieces of cardboard and cut them all out at the same time. If you’re using scissors or a box cutter, just cut out three trees by hand. You can use any type of scrapbook paper you want for this project, so feel free to get creative. And if you have any extra scraps leftover, you can always use them to make some fun Christmas ornaments! The Paper Plate Tree If there’s ever a designer creation you must build, this one is it. We’ve updated the instructions to our infamous Makedo Christmas Tree - and this time around, we’re also working on a mini table-top version! I had an idea to create some Christmas trees that could somehow fold away flat for people with limited space, and I love how they turned out! They also ended up to solve a few other holiday problems. These cardboard Christmas trees:This is another fun DIY Christmas tree craft that’s perfect for kids (or adults who are young at heart). You’ll need some buttons, glue, and decorations of your choice. You can make a smaller desk-sized version with our instructions here. Either way, we’re sure Santa will be impressed with your creativity and have no problem finding the perfect place to put all your presents. Happy holidays! I think these would also look incredible in a group of lots of them — a recyclable forest! Hope you try these out. xoxo This design takes DIY cardboard Christmas tree to a whole nother level! The star tree topper, ornaments, and gift boxes are all made out of cardboard! Although, this is a small design it could be scaled to make at multiple sizes; your imagination is the only limitation!

Insert the circles into the slits of one of the folded trees and open the tree enough to stand. Add the other two trees onto the circles.
