Same brother again - For having a ridiculously hot best friend, then assigning him as my primary bodyguard and telepathically forbidding him from dating me, even though I’m starting to suspect that he’s seriously crushing on me. (The best friend is crushing, not my brother. Don't be weird.)

I do think you would want to read first book to understand Sammy and her brother Leo aka Sawyer’s best friend. I will now be rereading the first book (heartbreak hero)and this one again… had me hooked, that good! I loved the mental health representation, the detail surrounding Sammy’s trauma and therapy. And as Sammy moves on with Sawyer, the communication relating to overcoming sexual trauma and safe ways to explore power dynamics in a therapeutic way were really refreshing. I won’t sugar coat it though, the FMC is a manically ragey at times… but if I’d been through what she had I would probably be exactly the same.

I love the references this author makes in her books, and the 4th wall breaks are awesome. I didn't notice any typos but there may have been 1 or 2 since I couldn't read the whole book in one sitting this time. Can't wait to see how the next couple work through their issues since she almost died protecting the girl in this book. Sammy has a past that included childhood abuse as well as domestic abuse with her ex-husband. Her traumatic history has shaped how she reacts to her environment, her relationships, and to her own feelings. She gains strength over the course of the book and heals as Sawyer surrounds her with his love. The last step on your turn is to draw Flood cards equal to the number indicated on the Water Level meter. For each card drawn, find the matching tile and do one of the following: Crew Anderson had been out of jail for a year and he was determined to clear his name. He had been framed for a crime he didn't commit and he was going to find the evidence he needed. He needed to keep those he cared about safe from the criminal elements as he got closer to the truth. Grecia Stephens was at the top of that list. He was smitten by her and he wanted to be good enough for her to accept him but he was sure she would never fee he was what she deserved.

This is another wonderful addition to the Born in Texas series. This story has drama, suspense, swoon-worthy romance and a happy ending. This book owns my whole heart. Pretty sure I have a new favorite book boyfriend (sorry, Cort Amos. You’ll need to share me with Sawyer).

So this is second book I’ve read by this author. Going to be completely honest in saying I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first book in this series. Not sure if it was because I hadn’t read the books that introduced Sue and Leo or if I was just to busy in life but I couldn’t quite get into Capture a Treasure. As an action, you may discard four matching Treasure cards whilst your pawn is on one of the two corresponding tiles and claim that Treasure. For example, if you’re on the Whispering Gardens, you can discard four Statue of the Wind cards to claim the Statue of the Wind.

I'm intrigued by this game. I like fantasy setting, I play D&D with a group of friends since 1990, and we just started to play Low Fantasy Gaming rpg. Solo, I have played a few Four Against the Darkness adventures but I missed the D&D options in combat and leveling up. I also tested Old School Essential rpg, runnning a pre-made adventure with almost no oracle and it was okay. I play board games but I don't like the long setup for any of them (Descent, Folklore Affliction). Pen & paper works best for me in solo rpg I think. The first is a simple set of game mechanics to allow you to play Mutant:Year Zero without a GM. The rules are tailored to fit in with the native game mechanics of M:YZ and should feel natural. The inspiration prompts, used for setting up scenes and answering open-ended questions use words and ideas curated directly from the Coriolis Third Horizon rules, and drill down to details such as items of clothing and specific items, objects, and locations from the setting.Tropes are: Brother's Best Friend, Secret Relationship/Forbidden Love, and Friends to Lovers with a dash of forced proximity. Both Temples, Gardens, Palaces or Caves tiles sink before you are able to claim their respective treasure. Shore Up. You may shore up a single tile in an adjacent space, flipping it from the flooded side to the coloured side.

The yes-no oracle uses the normal Zero Engine dice pool rules, with successes equating to yes answers, and the more yeses that you roll the more emphatic the answer becomes. Falling in love with his best friend's little sister was never Sawyer's mission. All he wanted was a family to call his own and someone to not give up on him. Even though he loved her he missed his chance to get his girl before he knew it she was gone from his world for good. Imagine his surprise when she is found three years later, ALIVE and even sexier than he remembers. I was cheering Sammy on throughout the book as she recovers from her traumatic past. (I really would like the number to her therapist, kthnx). I love her inner monsters and fully visualised them as the emotions from Inside Out; I saw 100% Horny Monster as Anger with longer legs (don’t come @ me pls). She’s strong willed, determined and a total badass and I want to be her friend. Another notch on the old bedpost in my ongoing quest to read every bodyguard romance I can. This had some worthwhile plot points like the inclusion of therapy for the FMC, but tbh the MMC could have used some therapy as well. I don't think he had truly dealt with his military service or near death experience. It was nice to read a story where the FMC took charge in the bedroom, up to and including a spicy epilogue where a flared base came in handy for the MMC. You don't see much of that in many of these stories that feature a muscled ex-military bad boy type. So bravo to the author for that. For Forbidden Lands, it seems to have a lot procedural mechanics to generate encounters and exploration. I have not played D100 Dungeon so I cannot compare.Would we play again? Yes! Forbidden Island is a great game that’s a lot of fun both solo or co-op, though it bugs me knowing there are other game modes. It doesn’t annoy me enough not to highly recommend this game to new gamers. Move. You may move one space orthogonally (up, down, left or right, but not diagonally) for each action. You may move onto a flooded tile but not over a missing tile. How tiles can become missing will be discussed later. Sawyer and Sammy have soo many things that connect them. And too much ugly keeping them apart. Sammy has been through so much, so to see her still struggling is tough. Sawyer definitely feels the need to solve this problem for her. He is absolutely my favorite Redleg guy, and I loved seeing him go into "Alpha Protector" mode. 😉 This is a great game for those who are new to the co-op gaming genre. Its portability and eye-catching design make it very popular. First Impressions Count My oldest brother - For insisting I need constant babysitters since I’m in danger. Oops! Did I say babysitters? I meant bodyguards.
