Description

Although this is a very long audiobook, I didn’t feel like it dragged on at all. The pacing was excellent. Early on, I thought it was going in one direction and then it took a turn I wasn’t expecting. I like how there was plenty of time given to really explore the depth of the feelings of all the characters. I also appreciated the concept of friends that grew to be family. meagan’s writing has the ability to make you feel as if you are right there with each character as they go through everything. my favorite characters would have to be cameron and noah, the latter being my new number one book boyfriend (he cooks, is a golden retriever, and has a soft spot for his mom) 💌

The smut doesn’t start until about 50% in. It really disturbed me that he didn’t wear a condom or even discuss birth control with Ari yet he supposedly cared about her. They’re 18 and 21. They weren’t ready for a baby yet.

let me just say, the hype is real! i went into this pretty blind, not knowing much other than a few of the tropes and i’m so glad i did. this book is by far one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking books i’ve ever read. The story revolves around 5 inseparable best friends ~ Arianna, Mason, Chase, Brady & Cameron. They were together constantly in high school, are deeded a beach house together and go to college together. The girls live together and the boys live together. The boys play football together and if the girls aren't at the games then they're watching it on tv together. That's a whole lot of togetherness.

to get the best experience, go in blind. this is why my review won’t really give anything away besides how much i enjoyed this perfection of a book. Eventually, it was obviously apparent to everyone that they were IN LOVE, the really-deeply-truly-soul searching kind of love, and Noah has no problem claiming Arianna proudly to everyone--including her brother. Enter Chase again... Now that Noah has her, Chase sees and wants her. He is green with envy and tries to interfere whenever he can.So I liked this well enough, but I feel like I could have liked it a bit more about 10 years ago, not when these characters are close to my daughters age. I can’t be thinking about my precious girl doing all the things these kids are doing ~ fake id’s, underage drinking and hookin up and what not. Can’t say I didn’t do it myself, but ya know, not my sweet baby girl. Going to have to start phasing out of reading YA romance. For a long time, I’ve fantasised about what my life might be like if I went to college, and even if certain details shifted over time, there was always one element that remained the same. In a soft tone, he whispers, “Juliet, I must say, I consider myself quite brilliant.” His gaze gently shifts towards my lips, captivated by their allure. In this thought-provoking statement, the speaker emphasises the foolishness of releasing someone once they have been captured in the desired position. The repetition of the phrase “once they had you where they wanted you” further emphasises the speaker’s point, highlighting the significance of not letting go. It is a powerful reminder of the consequences that can arise from making hasty decisions without considering the potential outcomes. Nonetheless, the pacing of the book was very well done and I loved how character-driven it was. Do gotta say there isn’t much of a plot but the characters made up for it! (Except for Chase lmao) I'm obviously in the minority here.. but I couldn't. I DNFd @ 35%. If you want to read my rant about this book scrollllllll down. FYI I read the synopsis when adding this to my TBR before it was out. So of course when it came out, I saw all the gushing over it, and I went straight in not reading the synopsis since that TBR add.. so I really went in blind.. not to mention the synopsis did a crap job of explaining this book.

Oh my! What a ride this story was! I just have to start by saying this is my favorite story of all time! It has definitely made it to the top of the "Read Again" list and I just can't wait to do it again.

I know it’s advertised as a love triangle but for my girlies that don’t like the trope… it’s not your typical love triangle where she is struggling a lot…. I feel like you are going to root for the person that she ends up with no matter what. (My opinion, of course) I loved the whole story every twist and turn. Nothing was ever too prolonged it was a true story of love and tragedy and overcoming all.

The angst was insane, my heart got shot to smithereens more times than once, but amongst all the emotional angst was such a profound feeling of love for our hero, he was everything I seek in my book characters, steady, hot, caring, he went above and beyond for our heroine. I do gotta say though that some of the things certain characters (such as Cam and Brady) said were a bit cringe imo but not that bad that I had to look away lol. Also Ari’s brother and his two friends were strangely protective of Ari and her best girl friend’s honor or something and wouldn’t even let a guy look at or talk to them. Who acts like this unless they are religious? Ari is a real cutie. I loved her character and I’m just so glad that she got what she deserved after having gotten treated so badly by Chase.

The writing was juvenile and the inner monologue was never ending. Everyone in here had no personality except Noah. That man single handedly carried every conversation. But he just wasn’t enough to make me suffer thru till the end. I just love when a book makes you feel so many emotions throughout the process of reading it and this book did just that and more!! fear not the fall, but the life that comes from having never leaped at all.” i smile through my tears. “i’ll always leap if the jump leads me to you, noah riley. always.”
