To start with, setting this tent up is easy. Experienced users were able to pitch it within 10-12 minutes even without reading the instructions. There weren’t any complaints about the ventilation in the tent. The inner polyester fabric is breathable, and the vents in the sleeping area keep ensure good airflow. This is a 3 person dome tent with a spacious sleeping area and a porch area. Note, the Avon 3 DLX isn’t a freestanding tent. You need to stake it properly to keep it stable. There’s a high-quality flysheet with a hydrostatic rating of 4000 mm. The polyester inner is made from breathable fabric. The sewn-in groundsheet has a waterproof rating of 3000mm and the seams are sealed. At 4.6 kgs, it’s not a heavy tent. Since it’s designed for casual camping trips and festivals, we feel that Eurohikes has hit the sweet spot with the space to weight ratio.

There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it. That said, users found setting up this tent single-handedly on a windy day a real nightmare. With its lightweight design and the minimum number of poles, the tent is likely to be blown away. To be fair, that’s the same with most pop-up tents. The thing is, this is one of the best-looking tents from the Eurohike stable. Combine that with a simple but stable structure and lots of interior space, and you have a real winner.

Now, this is a rare 3-person tent from Eurohike where the sleeping area is spacious enough for 3 people. With 2 people, it will be very comfortable.

Now, the front section comes with two doors and two windows. As a result, it feels airy. The inner room contains some vents. However, it may not be sufficient for hot and humid conditions. We feel that this model is best used in cooler climates. Users mentioned no leakage in the tent during rain showers. The sealed seams add to the overall level of waterproofing. Also, users mentioned the tent being sufficiently waterproof and windproof during light rain showers. The flysheet and groundsheet come with a waterproof rating of 2000mm. However, the groundsheet on the porch area isn’t fully sealed/sewn. So we wouldn’t recommend this tent in heavy rains.The simple truth is, this isn’t’ a rugged tent designed for the wilderness or the mountains. Not that we were expecting so at this price point. Even though Eurohike marks this as a 2 man tent, it’s a bit too small for two large adults. Users above six feet found the space on the shorter side.
