Such a beautifully sophisticated masculine scent, and much like its equally legendary sister Aramis 900, we should all be grateful that it's still in production. I see a log with moss and lichen, mushrooms covering it, I get in close, examine it, am in awe of its splendor. I may eventually sell or swap off some of my other leather scents because this one may be the ultimate for me! If I had a son and who was turning 18 and about to go off to University, this would be the perfect gift.

Longevity for me was average rather than strong--the morning application seemed to wear off by noon. All in all, the Classic Collection should be considered as a mirror on how Americans perceived Old Europe’s perfumery. On that note, my Father is a total outdoors guy, Hiking, Fishing etc, I always see him as a modern Jeremiah Johnson, I bought an extra bottle of this Fragrance as a present for him so that kind of sums up what I mean, It's a fragrance for an outdoors guy with a connection to nature.They are generally built around bergamot, oakmoss, labdanum and patchouli and have a warm, dry effect. To my nose, the current formulation of Aramis Devin smells almost exactly like the current formulation of Aliage by Estee Lauder, which I love. The sound of birds, the fresh air of the forest, the tenderness of the raindrops, hand in hand with the lover, everything is beautiful and peaceful.

Great to wear to job interviews and on the job/office, a scent of success and for those seeking success. It's almost like a combination of all three, the opening is very similar to Eau Savage while the dry down has the smokiness and warmth of Jazz Club/By the Fire. The opening is very well done one of my favorites from Aramis and so straight out of the 70's with it's emphasis on green notes.Be warned however that this is probably not for everybody, it is a masculine scent that is more authoritative than all this metro-sexual hodgepodge that a lot of companies throw out these days. You can smell easily what this has in common with two of his other most famous chypres from this line also designed by the legendary Chant: the original Aramis by Aramis, and the lovely rose-leather chypre Amaris 900. If you're a guy or girl that enjoys fragrances that are affordable but have complexity and allure/sophistication, Aramis is for you. Again fragrance has no gender, I do get that this is a perfectly masculine perfume, but I think that if you are a woman who likes older style fragrances, woody perfumes, and Aromatics Elixir, you should try this.
