I don't know whether this happened every night or just the night I went...but I remember MES writing on this sheet of paper - passed it over to Steve Hanley who was dressed in some strange papal uniform - who passed it on to an actor speaking a monologue. The actor theatrically described the whole happening as rubbish - screwed up the paper and threw it in a bin - and the scene ended. As the next scene began the actor brought the bin into the audience - and offered the screwed up sheet to my friend next to me. I was more of a Fall fan than my friend - so he immediately donated it to me - and that's what you see. Part of the scene I've just described is accounted for on the sheet above."hey, that guy on the other side of the isn't the fall singer?" well, as soon as i recognize him we jumped into his direction. mark was with a blonde guy who was a keyboard player and producer... i forgot his name! we approached saying that we were there to see them at the concert, bla bla bla.
