Although you could say this book is historical, the 1960s could be seen to be by some, for me it is more a reflection on how women’s roles were changing and that in some cases, women are still seen to be so far behind their male counterparts. This was an absolutely delightful read, I believe that some of the characters friends of Megs are in a couple of previous books, which would explain how they met etc. Her relationship with Meg was delightful and very special which made the story even better and it was wonderful to catch up with characters from past books.

Family politics, whimsical stories of the past, and a lot of passion for this project make the tale a lovely read. This book follows on from two previous books set in the 1960s and vividly brings to life the beauty of Nightingale Woods Hotel in Dorset.
