We reserve the right to refuse installation should our engineers think that the existing electrical or plumbing points are unsafe and in need of maintenance or if they are unable to install to existing furniture.

As the front bar doesn’t push sound sideways in any particular manner, it makes sense to put the rears wide, and this delivered a fairly immersive soundfield with Disney+’s Jungle Cruise, the rear atmosphere awash with toucans and water swooshes, while the subwoofer made itself known under the throaty growl of Frank’s pet jaguar, the torpedo explosion, the river rapids, and plenty more.It delivered the richness of Tom Hiddleston’s outrageously deep voice in the last episode of Loki, and the deep brass notes through Loki’s closing theme. There was no thinness to big action scenes, no softness to fight sequences – this is the best and certainly the largest soundbar performance we’ve heard from a lone lozenge-type design. Playing solo, each Home 150 is an impressive little speaker – they’re mono, having a single 25mm tweeter and an 89mm woofer, but with scale and weight beyond the expectations of their size, a remarkably rich sound, even out in free space on a sturdy stand or table. Ultimately in size and power they have their limits, of course, but that point is impressively loud for a speaker so small. There's also AirPlay 2 and voice assistant support. The latter is just as responsive as you'd expect from a dedicated solution, so it's useful. Being able to set up your own playlists across multiple services as well as opting to import music from your home network or an external hard drive is also useful and pretty simple to do. The Denon Home 150 sounds reasonably meaty too. The soundstage is pretty wide for such a device, although we did wonder what it would be like with two speakers. Besides punchy bass at higher volumes, you also get smooth mids and relaxed trebles. A bit of zing would have been nice here at the top end, but crank up the volume and you'll look past that.

We were nearly similarly rude about the sound of the Home 250 as well, given it was serving up a rather brash version of our music compared with either the 150 or 250. But we found that the unit’s EQ had arrived set, either by default or by a previous user, to bump up the bass and heavily push up the treble. Ultimately its size and power have their limits at a point beyond which congestion and distortion become evident, but that point is impressively loud for a speaker so small. As for linearity, while its response to a sweep is less than smooth, with a notable push right down low then a dip from 60 to 100Hz, the balance is enjoyable in practice, spoken voices are tonally accurate, and there’s even a good sense of atmosphere around the different elements, an especially impressive achievement when working in mono. Positioning near a wall or a corner can enlarge the sound still more, at the cost of less predictable frequency response. What the 250 gets very right is the confident way it rides the line between keeping things engaging in the treble and pushing too far into overbrightness, something it never did, even when pressed to pumping levels, even with our Dion torture test, where the overbright recorded vocal was nicely tamed, and the band filled out by that 50Hz notch up, one of the best deliveries of this difficult mix we’ve heard from any system, in fact. Please note that our couriers will try to deliver as arranged but we will not be held responsible for any costs incurred because of non-delivery or factors introduced by third-parties. This service is based upon best endeavour and is not guaranteed.

Ultimately, the Denon Home 150 does mostly everything you could want or need, even if the app could do with a few homely touches or even a tutorial or two.

And, perhaps more excitingly if you’re someone who likes to see how stuff works, the Era 100 has been built with serviceability in mind, using screws to more easily disassemble and repair. If the speaker stops working, and you know what you’re doing, you could fix it yourself. That’s not an option for the Denon Home 150 with its sealed design. They can act as rear gunners The smallest system speaker Denon´s Home rage, the Home 150, is the most compact design vying for the favour of design-oriented buyers. Its fabric covering and rounded shape add a touch of ´hygge´ Scandinavian design to any home. Those who value acoustic virtues immediately recognise the differences to the larger speakers of the range: The Denon Home 150 is in fact a 2-way speaker without stereo virtualization. The Denon combo doesn’t rival a proper surround system, and even if all you want is a soundbar system with wireless rears and subwoofer, we’d probably point you elsewhere.
