You can find the second one nearby here in the vibrant Cecil Court which is another popular independent shopping street. It’s just a two-minute walk away from Goodwin’s Court.

To fix this problem, I used a saw from my gardening tools and carefully sawed off the scare owl’s two ear tufts. I felt really bad! And there you have it, the enormous Harry Potter directional sign! I love how it turned out! It looked amazing at the wedding reception with all of the other Harry Potter details my friends had created for their wedding. This is it — the Leaky Cauldron. It's a famous place." — Rubeus Hagrid introducing the Leaky Cauldron [src] Ollivanders is a wand shop described as "narrow and shabby, with a sign that reads Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC in peeling gold letters over the door. The only display in the window overlooking Diagon Alley is a single wand lying on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window. Within, there are countless narrow boxes piled neatly right up to the ceiling and a spindly-legged chair" (which Hagrid breaks when he sits upon it). As J. K. Rowling was a student of The University of Exeter, many Exonians and Potterheads believe that places in this historic city inspired her Wizarding World!

If there is one street you need to visit in Devon’s capital city, it has to be Gandy Street Exeter. Harry turned on the spot with Griphook on his shoulders, concentrating with all his might on the Leaky Cauldron, the inn that was the entrance to Diagon Alley… seconds later Harry’s feet found pavement and he opened his eyes on Charing Cross Road. Muggles bustled past wearing the hangdog expressions of early morning, quite unconscious of the little inn’s existence.” Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Chapter 26 – Gringotts.

Shops of Diagon Alley:

In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4/ LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, The Leaky Cauldron is a shop in Diagon Alley, not the entrance. It has a history since the Saxon era and today is a little gem that can be found hidden down an alleyway from the bustling Exeter High Street. In the three-storey explosion of orange in a deserted Diagon Alley, the Weasley twins sold everything from Extendable Ears to fireworks in the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes shop. The 120 individually designed products reflected Fred and George’s mischievous sense of humour. Designed to look like an 18th century shop, the Weasleys’ storefront took more than three months to build — and much of that time was spent constructing the 20- foot mannequin above the main entrance. Diagon Alley is a high street located in London. It is accessible to the wizarding world, to which it is something of an economic hub, but hidden from Muggles (non-magical people). However, Muggles are allowed access to it if they need to accompany their Muggle-born magical children. If a wizard or witch needs something, chances are that it can be found in Diagon Alley. While the pub was, from the first, a place for witches and wizards to congregate — whether Londoners or out-of-towners up for the day to shop for the latest magical ingredients or devicesn— Muggles were not turned away or made to feel unwelcome, even though some of the conversations, not to mention pets, caused many an unwary Muggle to leave without finishing his or her mead. [1]

It’s a place that is easily missed amongst the labyrinth of shopping streets but when you do happen to find it, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported into another world. A Harry Potter–themed store is also located in the station near the plaque. [49] Filming locations [ edit ] Ollivander: " Curious ... curious ..." Harry Potter: " Sorry, but what's curious?" Ollivander: " I remember every wand I've ever sold, Mr Potter. Every single wand. It so happens that the phoenix whose tail feather is in your wand, gave another feather — just one other. It is very curious indeed that you should be destined for this wand when its brother — why, its brother gave you that scar." — Ollivander on Harry Potter's wand [src] In keeping with their magical reputation, they have some Harry Potter-themed window displays and merchandise for sale. So, make sure you stop by to look for Wizarding supplies.

One of the last signs I created was for Gringotts bank. I created the base of the sign by layering two signs together. The bottom boards were from Hobby Lobby, and the “Bikini Crossing” sign I found on clearance at Joann Fabrics. It’s impossible for the Warner Bros Studio Tour to have served as the inspiration for Diagon Alley but, if you want to see the best representation of Diagon Alley in London, it’s hands down the place to go. They nodded, clustering around her. Moody gave Harry another shove between the shoulder blades to urge him forward and Tonks leaned close to the glass, looking up at the very ugly dummy, her breath steaming up the glass. ‘Wotcher,’ she said, ‘we’re here to see Arthur Weasley.’’ Ministry of Magic: visitor entrance

Later during that school year, Jacob and their sibling had an awkward dinner in the Leaky Cauldron with their long lost father Peregrine. [10] They later met with their father in the inn to discuss their findings about Dai Ryusaki. [11] The Magical Menagerie pet store, like Eeylops', offers pets and pet-related services tailored to the needs of wizards, but rather than centering on owls, has a much more varied selection. It is here that Ron looks for information about his rat, Scabbers, who has been looking poorly since they returned from Egypt in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and it is here that Hermione buys her cat, Crookshanks. While we do see a number of interesting creatures in this store, we only visit it in this one book. with barrels of bat spleens and eels’ eyes, tottering piles of spell books, quills and rolls of parchment, potion bottles, globes of the moon ...There were two known locations of Ollivander's wand shop. There was a branch of Ollivanders in both Diagon Alley [3] [1] and in Hogsmeade. [2] The Hogsmeade branch was located on Hogsmeade's High Street, as the street served as the primary location for the wizarding village's shops. The Hogsmeade branch was very similar to its counterpart in Diagon Alley. [2] In the information box at the top of this article, we do not name any permanent residents of Diagon Alley. Through the course of the first five books, if there are permanent residents, none are named, although we suspect Florean Fortescue and possibly Mr. Ollivander live over their shops. We learn at the start of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, however, that the Twins are living in an apartment over Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. While this nominally makes them permanent residents, they don't stay there long; and as their residence constitutes something of a spoiler, we have elected not to place that in the info box. The Leaky Cauldron had changed little over the years; it was small, dingy and welcoming, with a few bedrooms above the public bar for travellers who live a long way from London. It was the ideal spot to catch up with wizarding gossip if one happened to live a long way from the nearest magical neighbour. [1] Abruptly, as though the tree had been turned to marble, it stopped moving. Not a leaf twitched or shook. Hedwig was easy to add to the top of the wooden pole since the owl came with a large hole in the bottom. The pole was square and Hegwig’s hole was round, so we had to sand down the pole a bit at the top so it would fit perfectly.
