Had to send my Switch in for a repair (overheating, fan sounded like a motorcycle) so I sent my left joycon with it, I'm sure it'll be fine after that. SpawnWave on YouTube has a recent video detailing the process, he says it's easy. Not much to lose if you are not going to use your Joycons in that state anyway. The AC ones really are lovely, aren’t they? Even if the joy-cons have been shown to have serious shortcomings in terms of structural design, from a purely visual design standpoint they are a stroke of genius. I don't need them, but I have waited decades for Nintendo to do anything in a decent shade of green. I long ago gave up on forest green, but I really like the AC ones. Wait, there are mirrored green & pink joy cons (going from the playasia link) or is this just concept art.... I must have missed the memo because the gray Joy-Cons are also no longer sold. Apparently, Nintendo discontinued the gray controllers (along with Neon Yellow and Mario Red) in April 2020. This was not what I wanted to read at 3 a.m.

I have all of them (plus straps) except for the grey and Smash ones. I assume that the Smash ones would be read as standard grey ones by the console, again assuming that each Joy-Con only contains a single colour code which is identifiable by the console.

I already own 3 sets and have a 4th on the way that will have a d pad put in. If Nintendo would give me the option to buy various styles and color of Joy-Cons I would, but as it stands I will just have to find someone willing to modify mine on the cheap like I have been. Really, though. I only really like Splatoon ones. Others are OK, but Pokemon and Smash editions seem truly bland and uninspired. Why, Nintendo, why?!
