This lens isn't a "constant" lens, in that as you increase the focal length, the maximum aperture size decreases. ED EZ: the extreme corners are about a half-stop darker than the center when the lens is used at its widest aperture.

It does get a little jittery if you move the camera quickly in dim, indoor lighting, but it’s unlikely to become an issue unless you’re trying to track a fast-moving subject. If you are purchasing your first micro four-thirds camera and looking at an Olympus that comes with this lens, you might as well get it! However there's much more than a name change at work here - the lens has been completely redesigned. Given the exceedingly small size of this lens, the plastic seems more likely to be durable than if it was built for a larger lens that would have more mass to throw around in the case of being dropped.
