Description

Osprey will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge on your Osprey Kestrel 38, or replace it if repairs are unlikely. That is to show how much they believe in their bags. A: Some of you might prefer a long single compartment over two separate ones – that may allow you to store items which are more prominent and occupy more space. Well, that makes perfect sense, and the Kestrel 38 is prepared for it. The septum between the two compartments is removable so that you may take it out anytime you are not using it. Nevertheless, make sure it does not get lost because a new one would be tough to get. Ospreys Customers Service is also pretty awesome and the repair centres’ communication and turnaround times are very commendable.

The Osprey Kestrel 38 has side zippers so it is easier for you to reach your stuff in the main compartment. Speaking of the main compartment, you can access using the sleeping bag compartment as well, which is very convenient. Two ice pole attachment points and trekking pole attachment points, two daisy chains, two sleeping pad straps (can be removed) The Osprey Kestrel 38 is adjustable and fits people of different sizes, which makes it a comfortable fit for almost anyone. During our product testing, we discovered that it features a side loophole mount, also known as “stow-on-the-go,” for attaching trekking poles. I personally found this feature to be quite handy.KlimbingKorns.de. (2015, January). Osprey Kestrel Test Review. Retrieved from http://klimbingkorns.de/osprey-kestrel-38-test-review/ I have to say it's very hard to really work out the differences between the various Osprey models? Do they have a comparison table anywhere? Haven't seen one......... As a result of my growing up in a warm climate, I am used to carrying large water bottles on my hikes. There are few finer testing grounds for hiking kit than the Italian Dolomites. This awe-inspiring landscape of serrated peaks that glare down on achingly lovely alpine pastures was the arena for my initial test. While I’ve also been romping around and camping in some of England and Wales’ hilliest national parks too. When you are exhausted of a long hiking day, each small detail counts. Buy a hydration bladder, even in cold weather walks – that I would highly recommend. Side Zipper

The Osprey Kestrel 38 is also a great fit, as it’s equipped with a sleeping bag compartment for easy storage of your bed. It is something in between the two. Something that you can take with you for a camping trip that is not lasting longer than a week. Remember that annoying whistle everyone keeps on telling you about, but when you finally get it you lose it somewhere? You can adjust the sternum strap too, just slide it up or down and get it the height you want. The hip belt is wide enough and adjustable, which is always nice. However, what the Kestrel 38 has over the Exos 38 is its slimmer and more environmentally conscious design. The full-sized medium/large option holds 38 liters of gear, while the small/medium option holds 36 liters. Finally, I like the fact that there are two ice axe loops, which makes it suited to more technical adventures. Notably, my older Kestrel only had the one ice axe attachment. Another worth mentioning feature is the Osprey Kestrel 38 shoulder harness. I liked that one in particular due to its adjusting mechanism.
