En el supuesto que declarasen culpable al acusado, no podremos atender ninguna apelación de clemencia. How can objectivity on a jury ever be reached when jurors are bringing in their own beliefs and prejudices?

Additionally, it was selected as the second-best courtroom drama ever (after 1962's To Kill a Mockingbird) by the American Film Institute for their AFI's 10 Top 10 list. This play can be read in a mere hour or so and I recommend it to everyone, especially people who want to read more classics. Shane Bourne played as Juror 3, Peter Phelps as Juror 4, Marcus Graham as Juror 8, George Kapiniaris as Juror 2, and Henri Szeps as Juror 9. The That Girl episode "Eleven Angry Men and That Girl", has the show's main character Ann Marie convince a jury that a person who was accused of domestic violence should be found innocent, only to see them strike their spouse in court after the verdict is announced.

Eventually, he convinces the other jurors to look beyond their own personal bias and support a unanimous "not guilty" verdict. Eleven jurors are ready to make a snap decision of guilty and head home, but one dissenting juror has a reasonable doubt. Mamet is also the author of Writing in Restaurants and On Directing Film, both available from Penguin.

Juror 3, infuriated, argues with and tries to attack Juror 8, with 5, 6 and 7 jumping up to hold him back, and yells a death threat. Modernizations include a prohibition on smoking in the jury room, the changing of references to income and pop culture figures, more dialogue relating to ethnicity, discussion about who else could have committed the murder if it wasn't the defendant, references to execution by lethal injection as opposed to the electric chair, and occasional profanity. Hancock spends the episode trying to convince the jury that a man caught red-handed stealing some jewelry is innocent when he is clearly guilty.

The final turning point comes when there is only a single man voting for a conviction, the opposite circumstance from the start of the play. There's a little dialogue which, in the audio, was probably about 30 seconds long and which really summed up this book for me. In a 1996 episode of Early Edition, titled "The Jury", Gary is the only juror who believes a man accused of embezzlement is innocent. Sewing binding for longer life, where the book block is actually sewn (smythe sewn/section sewn) with thread before binding which results in a more durable type of binding.

I also had the pleasure of seeing the play performed live in London’s West End several years ago, with a wonderful cast.In other theatrical adaptations in which female actors are cast, the play is retitled 12 Angry Jurors, 12 Angry Men and Women or 12 Angry Women. Jurors 5, 6, and 8 further question the second witness's story, and question whether the death threat was figurative speech.
