By the end of the 13 mile run, there was a lingering soreness, and that continued into the next day - along with substantial quad issues. Jeff: Every time I put this shoe on I kept hearing Sonny and Cher’s “I Got You Babe” as I was having Groundhog Day-esque flashbacks to the Brooks Glycerin 18. While it’s nothing new, the DNA Loft has a nice way of adapting to the foot’s movement and keeps the ample cushioning consistent throughout. Was the contrast between firmer and long BioMoGo DNA medial rail and softer main midsole DNA Loft to much? By mile 8, I started having issues on the outside of my right knee, and by mile 10 my left knee was having the same issue.

The medial GuideRail is now co molded BioMoGO DNA instead of being glued in (glue layer contributing to the stiffness felt) with the lateral GuideRail a raised side wall of the same DNA Loft as the rest of the midsole. That should tell you something as we all pronate some and I think few need extreme measures of control,, Yes some do but I feel motion control is if you will "over prescribed".

Said one: ‘The Transcend has middle-of-the-road cushioning—not too soft that I feel like I’m wearing bedroom slippers, and not too firm that I feel every crack and pebble beneath my foot. Running in the shoe, my legs always felt fresh post-workout, or at the very least, I didn’t feel completely broken after hill workouts. We challenge ourselves to make the best running gear in the world because we want to run in it, too. It’s upper is not as premium as the Transcend’s upper, but everything else tips too deeply into the Topo’s favor to not go that route. Jeff: Brooks went with a double-jacquard mesh upper that holds the foot well, breathes just fine, and feels comfortable without being overly plush.

The Brooks Transcend 7 is recommended for mild overpronators who need a stability shoe for high-mileage runs and easy, recovery runs.Runner's World participates in various affiliate marketing programs, which means we may get paid commissions on editorially chosen products purchased through our links to retailer sites. VELO MANAGEMENT LTD, trading as Velo Runner, is regis tered in England and Wales under company number: 07125740. The Brooks Glycerin GTS 19 shares much of its engineering with its neutral family member, the Brooks Glycerin 19. After getting hurt a few years ago I ran in stability shoes for a season, and they felt nothing like the Transcend. My love for people has lead me to the field of Physical Therapy and specialize in treating athletes, as well as runners.

The Brooks Transcend 7 is here; the latest update of one of the emblematic top of the range models in cushioning for pronator runners from the North American company. v=1653860894"}},"requires_selling_plan":false,"selling_plan_allocations":[]},{"id":36881106567321,"title":"6. The update of one of Brooks Running ' s most iconic sagas remains true to its essence, offering a more natural and less aggressive ride for the running foot. I tried adjusting the tongue and then lacing my shoes differently, but I still had that issue with the left tongue. While it added to the comfort, I did have an issue with the padding on the underside of the tongue getting a little wadded up on the left shoe and pinching the top of my foot a bit.

If you need minimal support, I’d still recommend the inherently stable Glycerin, but if you have major needs, the Transcend is for you. In addition to the cushioning under your feet, there is also some padding around the top and sides of the heel and underneath the tongue. This is my first Transcend shoe I’ve run in or reviewed, but compared to the last few Glycerin outsoles, the rubber appears to be a little thinner, which helps the shoe still feel fairly svelte considering its size. These days he runs halves in the just sub 1:40 range training 30-40 miles per week mostly at moderate paces on the roads and trails of New Hampshire and Utah. The Brooks Transcend 7, one of the top of the range models in cushioning from Brooks Running for neutral runners and pronators, has arrived on the market.

At least for me, the GuideRails are still “overdone” and to much of a contrast with the rest of the underfoot feel. With the Brooks Transcend you will be able to feel the support and the plush inside, Brooks wants you to feel like this shoe was almost made for your foot. If you have any questions, comments or queries about the Brooks Glycerin 19 GTS or where it sits with regards to the Glycerin 19, or if you've been a Brooks Transcend 7 wearer previously and you want to let us know how you've gone please contact our Sportitude shoe experts.Maybe because I’m such a fanatic of lightweight trainers, such as the Kinvara 10 and the New Balance Fuel Cell Rebel, I’ve found it hard to find something I like that won’t tempt me to take my foot off the brake. Nothing about them stand out as extraordinary, but my knees feel great during and after my run and my times are always faster than it felt like I was going. According to Brooks, Guide Rails will come into play, as needed, for both support oriented and neutral runners (as their stride falls out of place).
