Flank steak is generally what would be most recommended, and I would definitelyagree. I noticed though at the store a few weeks ago that many have specific fajita meat. Coeliac Awareness Week runs this year from the 9 th – 15 th May, and Aldi has a range of Specialbuys, and Award-winning gluten free foods in store, which means you don’t have to compromise on taste. Our Old El Paso Gluten Free Smoky BBQ Fajita kit is a winner for the whole family, containing gluten free wraps, salsa and a seasoning mix.

Looking for more inspiration on how to use the kit? Why not try this Mexican feastby Le Coin Del Mel, this pizza recipe by The Intolerant Gourmandor Dilan and Me’s review of the kit? Put the 12 ribs in the bowl and rub with the oil. Put them on a baking sheet in a single layer and roast for 20 minutes until crispy.Fry onions over a medium heat until soft, then add pepper and potatoes. Cover and cook gently over a low heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring regularly, until the potatoes are cooked through. Specially Selected Luxury Dessert Pots €1.29/90g – Available in Belgian Chocolate, Caramel & Seas Salt or Sicilian Lemon Whilst we’re on the subjects of wraps- I really enjoyed these! The photo makes them look a little smaller than they actually are: they’re definitely bigger than the corn taco wraps (that you can currently buy in Sainsbury’s) and they’re also really sturdy too- they held plenty of filling without falling apart. The texture of them was incredibly like regular flour tortillas too. These are a mix of quinoa, corn and tapioca flour-a welcome change from the usual rice flours. Unlike many gluten-free bread alternatives, they don’t use egg either. While your fajita filling is cooking you can choose to warm up your wraps in the oven or microwave, so they are lovely and warm when you sit down to eat. The kit also includes a lovely salsa to top your fajitas with, and I put out a bowl of vegan cheese to sprinkle on top too. Had we not been snowed in I probably would’ve got some vegan sour cream or cream fraiche too, which would definitely help cool your mouth if you did find them a little spicy. One of my favourite things to do is serve up ‘free from’ meals without mentioning it to my dinner guests, just to truly test whether or not they would even notice. As I served up dinner tonight I didn’t mention to Adam that these wraps were actually gluten free, and guess what – no one suspected a thing! These wraps were a really great gluten free alternative, and were much nicer/closer to the ‘real thing’ than some of the gluten free products I have tried.

Description 8 Gluten free tapioca, corn and quinoa tortillas, 1 Tomato topping salsa, 1 Seasoning mix for BBQ Fajitas. Cook the other side until golden brown by sliding the omelette onto a plate, placing the saucepan over the top and flipping over. (Alternatively, place under a hot grill for a couple of minutes to set the top.) Now we are ready to make these Gluten-Free Skillet Beef Fajitas in just minutes! Are you ready for a bite?

Old El Paso Gluten Free Fajita Kit – Smoky BBQ

Salsa for Topping (31%): Chopped Tomatoes (51%), Water, Tomato Paste (10%), Modified Corn Starch, Dried Onions, Salt, Sugar, Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid), Green Chilli Pepper, Paprika, Onion Powder, Firming Agent (Calcium Chloride), Garlic Powder I really enjoyed making these fajitas. Personally, I could only manage two (with a side dish of wedges) so I have saved plenty for tomorrows lunch too. The kit is definitely big enough for dinner for four.
