Un sāku manīt detaļas, ko viņš laikam izmanto visu laiku - kas nav nekas nosodāms, bet ja sāk krist acīs, tad nedaudz "niez" gan. This novel follows the disappearance of Mike Baye's teenage son, who simply does't come home one day--a parents' worst nightmare come to life. but the same reader/reviewer would tar The Maltese Falcon with the same brush, so I'd be cautious about awarding demerit points to Hold Tight because Bram used the same "device" of the '40s "voice" that worked for Hammet. Contrived details (a hulking bouncer for a rough club in a black neighborhood conveniently has a green tattoo of the prestigious college he and the MC both attended.

For me it was a role reversal to read the mom (Tia) being tough about checking on the kid and the dad (Mike) wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt - but regardless there were so many good points being made it was like watching a championship sporting match. Erich is a Jewish man who has made it out of Vienna at the beginning of the war and comes ot work for the Navy. Chapter Twenty-Eight gets even more curvy with Mike, the missing Adam's father, getting picked up by the FBI for questioning.Of course I love this author's Myron Bolitar books the best (I am a seriesaholic) but I enjoy his stand alones like this one as well. One of the other main characters in the novel was one of Hank's handlers from the Navy, Erich Zeitlin. The link comes at the end which is a bit far fetched but you can see how small actions can have large consequences. Ron and Betsy Hill, who's son Spencer (who was also Adam's friend I'd mentioned above) had committed suicide by drug overdose for unknown reasons. There are so many spies in this story that I had a very rough time deciding which were the good ones on our side and which ones were the bad guy.

What had me intrigued was the whole spyware angle, I was totally sold on a story which vilifies this practice and exposes this software as the devil’s work. Question: If you had a magic pass allowing you to tell your teenager one thing and they would listen, believe and take it to heart - what would you say? From that day on there is a rule in my house that all the teenager's electronic devices are not in their rooms overnight. This isn't something that could happen to only a select, specific group of people, but rather it could happen to the family down the street. What happens to his characters, who are usually in thier 30s and 40s leading normal lives and have families, could happen to nearly every one of us.I was worried that the character list was growing too long, especially with the Marianne/Nash/Petra line that was still unclear to me. I’m fully aware that I often need a good, swift kick in the ass, but seldom do I realize it so fully when I state that I treasure my time living this humdrum life above anything else on this planet, and proceed to squander it by reading something like Harlan Coben’s Hold Tight. Started reading this on the beach yesterday and I am definitely hooked and intrigued to see where these plots take me. Adam Baye - a 16-year-old boy who has a mysterious problem, Mike and Tia's son, and Jill's elder brother. The story deals with problems of parental controls, teenage suicide, children independence and abuse of prescribed drugs.

Gay Texan Sailor Hank Fayette, on shore leave, has been directed by some of his sailor friends to a certain movie theatre where he is approached and taken to a Docklands brothel where he, well, brothels. His books include the Myron Bolitar series, as well as other standalone novels, including Play Dead, Miracle Cure. Book club is a social group but it's also a group that introduces new ideas, shares new perspectives and opens our minds. He believes doctors should behave like they are worthy of the hopeful feelings the patients have towards them. It’s the second novel which, the novelist having exhausted his autobiographical possibilities, has to be something else and ends up being, at best a succes d’estime. In Paris, he was awarded the prestigious Vermeil Medal of Honor for contributions to culture and society by the Mayor of Paris. I wonder if he had taken out some of the subplots and characters, if the main story would have flowed better and the plot would have been tighter than it was. A story filled with the life behind closed doors of four families, and how one thing said can sent the whole ball running and cause a chain effect of events and deaths. As I said, reader response to this novel is all over the spectrum, and it does rub people the wrong way.

Neither parent is a suitable match and with some investigating, Mike finds out that Dante is not Lucas’s biological father. Within days of installing a sophisticated spy program on Adam’s computer, they are jolted by a cryptic message from an unknown correspondent that shakes them to their core “just stay quiet and all safe. At least his sense of betrayal by the legal system in America prompts him, against his better judgement to help Hank survive `deportation' to a mental hospital after his undercover work was finished - the plan the authorities had for him (with a possible lobotomy thrown in for good measure. C. Bram wrote an intriguing book with Hank Fayette as the handsome, simple, intelligent, caring, revengeful and all around good guy who capture my heart from the beginning. They worry that this is a violation of his privacy, but that concern is trumped by their larger concern for his well-being.He becomes a spy by chance when he meets an attractive woman who with her father are operating a small spy operation.
