Description

The Jefferson Starship song "Please Come Back" was previously unreleased, and remains unavailable on any other official Airplane-related release.

Rounding off well with the slick rocker, "Ride the Tiger", a hint of their future direction as the more commercial Starship. However, it sounds as if the master tapes had been damaged on at least three songs, and significantly obvious on the introduction of "Silver Spoon". Irrespective of the source, all of our collectables meet our strict grading and are 100% guaranteed. This pressing sounds fine, although the live version of "Somebody To Love" sounds a bit rough compared to the other songs. Although primarily a compilation album, the album includes one previously unreleased song: "Please Come Back" written by Ron Nagle and performed by Jefferson Starship. Bark" from 1971was not Jefferson Airplane's best album but there are better tracks on it than the awful " Pretty As You Feel" which was sung and written by the (then) drummer - Joey Covington. This is a good compilation, it gives a great overview of the Airplane phase of their career, and has some samplings from the various side projects (Hot Tuna and the like). The BGO version is said to be a sonic improvement on the BMG/Sony edition; nonetheless, certain tape defects such as on Silver Spoon still exist.

Ten years of Jefferson Airplane and various offshoots, this is a well-chosen compilation highlighted by "Come Up the Years", "Won't You Try Saturday Afternoon", "Hesitation Blues", "Pretty as You Feel" and "Sketches of China". It also contained a detailed history of the band, written by Patrick Snyder of Rolling Stone magazine.Unfortunately this has not been released on CD, so you'll have to locate a copy of the original vinyl. Silver Spoon" with Grace forgetting the piano isn't supposed to be used to announce gothic doom, "Pretty as You Feel" is a gorgeous acoustic pop hit, courtesy the muse of drummer Joey Covington, with a welcome message that true beauty comes from within. It also retains much of the original vinyl packaging (which was lavish in the extreme) and adds some new sleeve notes from the excellent John Tobler.

The audio quality is as good as the original master tapes available for the Japanese LP pressing and features JVC K2 24 Bit Remastering.Have You Seen the Stars Tonight" a dreamy number, compatible with say the last two tracks of Marrying Maiden, hippie ambience. A compilation of tracks by Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Airplane side projects, from 1966-1976. The mighty, crushingly deep, sweeping "Sketches of China", acknowledged by some as their greatest post-sixties achievement.
