They said: “We started kicking around the idea of a ‘Ghosts’ companion book quite early on in the life of the series and got very excited about how the characters could show up in all kinds of documents and artefacts. By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. Gathered together in this volume is a treasure trove of unearthed cuttings, original records and rare artefacts that explore the unseen lives of those who died at Button House: from Thomas's love letters to Pat's ‘Summer Camp Rap’, and from Julian's campaign promises to Lady Button's Rules of Etiquette. There are back stories for the different characters, declarations of love, historical insights into life in the past, and excellent pictures of our favourite ghosts. The tie-in book is described as “a hilarious, colourful and entertaining compendium of surviving artefacts and documents relating to the ghosts of Button House’s past lives”.

We get newspaper cuttings of some of Pat’s rather hilarious escapades and transcripts from some of Julian’s rather dodgy dealings and attempts to build his very own swimming pool on expenses… and the addition of the Times TV schedule spread with all of the programmes each of the ghosts have highlighted to watch was a further glorious insight into their personalities. I love Ghosts, such a well written, funny, and sometimes genuinely poignant show, and if this sample is anything to go by, the book will be a good extension of that - I found the Julian sections in particular very funny. It encapsulates each ghosts personality perfectly, you can just imagine hearing these inserts in their voices. One of the tourists is Evan, taking an enforced holiday from his family and work in Belfast after breaking down after the death of his daughter in infancy. Chapter books suitable for older children that are confident with their reading level, aged around 8-13 years old.So many little in-jokes and you could hear the characters coming through with every insert and feature, chuckling along and enjoying the little insights into their living. Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. Written by the show's creators – Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond – this eclectic archive is a unique chance to discover more about the beloved ghosts of Button House. I loved the use of the TV timetable as an insight to what they think the characters would enjoy watching as well as seeing into several of the characters various correspondences. It's all about the characters - nothing behind the scenes or about production besides some photos at the end but I didn't expect there to be so it's fine.

The only reason I couldn’t give this one five stars (it has to be simply immaculate for me for five stars), is that I struggled to read the handwritten sections of the book. Even a double page of the Radio Times schedule with each ghost circling what programmes they will watch really sums them up. I’m going to be so sad to see this series end but having this book on my shelf is definitely somewhat of a balm to quell el heartbreak at having the series come to a close.Based on the BBC television series Ghosts produced by Monumental Television in association with Them There. With Ghost sadly in its final season this book will provide a lasting tribute to our favourite residents of Button House. But let's be real, it's a companion to the excellent TV show Ghosts which I adore so it was perfection. The additional archives from the TV show, this book contains all of the letters, flyers and important documents gathered by Alison, to document her ghost friends’ lives (and deaths)!

I wasn’t actually reading the book at that point, I was just spending a while staring and trying to decipher the handwriting… was just a pain. I loved what content was previewed and I’m definitely going to be putting the book on my Christmas list ! We're delighted to finally be bringing this idea to life with Bloomsbury to produce something we hope fans will treasure. The Ghosts sitcom, created, written by and starring Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond, comes to its end this year on the BBC with series five.
