I have not looked at forecasts, but from what has been mentioned there is another storm is on the way to western France and sounds like the whole ocean is going to be somewhat rough for a while to come. Mein Schiff 3 was just ahead of Balmoral (when she turned last night) and continued in the same direction, now off the Portuguese cost, just north of Lisbon. Bollette was there on (I think Monday), so missed the worst, though seas were rough in the bay then. A number of ships seem to have hit heavy weather returning to the UK late last week and seems ports are currently being skipped/changed in the Med as well. I have heard the planes from Jersey airport are currently parked up in Liverpool Airport. Whilst the tips of some tree branches (not all) are waving around gently, it is pretty calm up here. You can get down to sea level to shoot your stormy shots, however it's much safer to find a location that gives you a vantage point that looks down onto a cliff or sea wall but still puts enough distance between you and the sea. Rugged coastlines look great sat against a moody sky and together they give you something very different to the usually sunset shots people take at the coast when on holiday.

This wonderful quote about stormy seas highlights the importance of family in keeping us afloat during the most difficult times. Cesare Pavese was an Italian author and poet. This quote means that if you keep on working, you will reach your goals eventually. Just as every ocean has a shore, every challenge has an end. It highlights the importance of perseverance, even in difficult times. William Blake was a 19th-century English poet and painter. This quote is an excerpt from his book ‘ The Marriage of Heaven and Hell‘ in which Blake expresses his own romantic and revolutionary beliefs. However, the facts are that less than seven month ago the Maritime and Coastguard Agency detained the Balmoral at North Shields after the ship failed a Port State Control (PSC) inspection. The courage to press on regardless – regardless of whether we face calm seas or rough seas, and especially when the market storms howl around us – is the quintessential attribute of the successful investor. John C. Bogle The famous quote about ships being safe in a harbour means that it’s better to get out and do the things that you want to do rather than sit and do nothing. Even if you fail, at least you’ll have tried and you’ll have learned something in the process. The phrase ‘terrible loyalty’ seems a bit odd, because ‘terrible’ usually means something bad. However, in this context, it means something more like ‘inescapable’. Because life is rough and we’re all in it together, we have no option but to co-operate and show each other kindness. Ships are safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for. So set sail on the stormy sea of love. You’re going to get soaked at times, but at least you’ll know you’re alive. Dan Millman Some cruisers who were onboard seem to have questioned why the ship sailed right into a severe storm which was forecast which was before the ship left the last port of call. Others have praised how well the Captain and crew handled the Balmoral in such a challenging situation.

Though bearing the name of the famous English seaman Sir Francis Drake, whose ship was blown far south after passing through the Strait of Magellan, the passage was first traversed in 1616 by a Flemish expedition led by Willem Schouten. The main thing is that the ship, the passengers and the staff are safe... and for that we are grateful. The Balmoral had windows/porthole(s) blown in late last year. That's now been repeated within the last day.. That's two instances of Balmoral windows/portholes being blow--in within a year. Life is like the ocean. It can be calm or still, and rough or rigid. But in the end, it is always beautiful. Unknown The Southern Ocean, also known as the Antarctic Ocean or the Austral Ocean, circles round Antarctica and comprises the southern-most parts of the world’s oceans. It is where cold, northward flowing waters from the Antarctic mix with warmer subantarctic waters. It is subject to frequent huge swells, many rough seas and the frequently occurring threat of icebergs at any time of year. Some may have drafts of several hundred meters, but even smaller ones, together with iceberg fragments and sea ice, also pose problems for ships. The fact that it is less well travelled and documented than any other ocean makes it even more hazardous and its remoteness makes sources of search and rescue scarce. He described Storm Agnes as "more widespread" than the last named storm to hit the UK - Storm Betty - but said it will not produce "significant widespread and long lasting travel disruption".

The Bible often refers to heaven as having four corners and four winds, just like the ‘four corners of the Earth, these are thought to be north, south, east and west. A wind warning has been issued for Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone & Derry ⚠️ #StormAgnes will bring a spell of strong winds Do you have a favourite of the stormy sea quotes? The extreme, turbulent elements depicted here contrast with the tranquil atmosphere of its pair, ‘Calme’, reflecting ideas fashionable at the time about the beautiful and sublime in nature and art. They are the only great pair of marine views by Vernet in a British public collection. Kathryn Kuhlman was an American evangelist who was known for hosting healing services. This quote means that hard times shape us into becoming better people. We learn a lot from our misfortunes and life’s challenges help us to improve. We've twice experienced Force 10 gales on the Balmoral and can certainly say that she handled well and we felt very safe with the Captain and that the ship came through unscathed.

It is expected to generate winds of up to 75mph and cause dangerous conditions along coastal areas, especially Irish Sea coastlines. The weather in this part of the Pacific Ocean is tropical and largely controlled by monsoons. Tropical typhoons and cyclones are also frequent and have caused some serious disasters in the area. What makes it even more dangerous is the “Dangerous Ground”, a large area of low islands, sunken reefs and barely covered atolls. The annual rainfall varies from about 2,000mm to 3,000mm around the southern basin. The area is poorly chartered and rife with territorial disputes making it an area best avoided at all costs.
