Georgie is finally happy. Having met the man of her dreams with lots of exciting things happening, she has the beginnings of all she ever dreamt of. Little does she know that she has fallen on someone else’s radar. Someone who is keen to turn her dreams into theirs ... There is a lot, too much, medical information given tbh and lots of gynaecological references throughout and it would be easy to get bogged down with this if let yourself, then again it is a book based around medicine and hospitals so guess there is a fine line on how detailed to go? I won’t say anymore as I really don’t want to spoil it fir you, but I will say this book has some nail biting moments which will have you on the edge of your seat.

The writing is sharp and crisp. The characters are secretive, obsessive, and impulsive. And the plot is a disturbingly eerie tale of control, obsession, deception, jealousy, betrayal, depravity, senseless violence, and murder. To the outside world, suave, charming and confident doctor Marcus Valentine has it all. A loving wife, three kids, a great job. But there’s something missing, there always has been. . . . or rather, someone . . . I really liked Georgie as a character - her excitement of finally becoming pregnant whilst her love of fitness and high online following to incorporate the two is rather sweet. From the number one bestselling author, Peter James, comes I Follow You, a nerve-shredding standalone thriller.Detective Superintendent Roy Grace is brought on to the case and grows suspicious when the one friend who wasn’t out celebrating refuses to collaborate on the case. All of a sudden, a motive surfaces, and Michael’s near accident may not be so accidental after all. In Looking Good Dead, published in 2006, Tom Bryce finds an apparently lost cd and decides to try to return it to its owner. But when his mission to return the cd leads to him witnessing a ghastly homicide, his family is threatened if he decides to go to the police. Meanwhile, Roy Grace is still haunted by his missing wife. It’s been nearly ten years since she disappeared.

Now the book is easy to guess, at every juncture but didn’t bother me at all and heightened the excitement as knew what was about to happen I listened to the book's audio version. The narrator was just OK. This book would have strongly benefited from multiple narrators since it was not always clear who was saying what as each chapter unfolded. I Follow You is a fast-paced, sinister thriller that takes you into the life of Georgie MacLean, an avid runner whose use of social media and an online running app makes it extremely easy for the man who seems harmless and like he has it all, a beautiful wife, three darling children, and a successful career to always know when and where she will be. Driving to work one morning, his mind elsewhere and not on the road, he almost mows down a female jogger on a crossing. As she runs on, Marcus is transfixed. Infatuated. She is the spitting image of a girl he was crazy about in his teens. A girl he has never been able to get out of his mind.

Customer reviews

Here is a story of obsession, stalking and narcissism that ends with a tense thrilling good enough for TV finale The fact that she's delighted that a Doctor is now following her progress and makes her feel validated was when I realised I was hooked. Peter James is a British best selling writer of fictional crime novels. He has written 25 novels that have been translated into over 35 languages. His series featuring Detective Superintendent Roy Grace have sold over 14 million copies world wide. He has had six UK Sunday Times #1 books consecutively due to this series. Peter James was born on August 22, 1948 in Brighton, Sussex, England. His mother Cornelia James was the Queen’s Glovemaker. It took me a little longer to get into the flow of this thriller, though I put that down to the Jersey setting - even his Cold Hill books are set in Sussex.
