Even though 'The dare' was vital to their story I kind of wish I hadn't read it because I'm kind of eating my words.

Granted, it's smutty and kinky AF but at it's heart it's heartwarming to see them all realize that against all odds, they work.

Jessica Martin, Manson Reed, Lucas Bent, Jason Roth and Vincent Volkov can do no wrong in my eyes defending them forever 🫂 bundle them up and keep them in my pocket. There are so many heart clenching, pure romantic moments between all of the characters all with that tinge of the unconventional. One of my favorite things is to listen to a book right after reading it…especially if I really love it. I feel like I can just leave that statement there because wow is that man gifted with the ability to take away his lover’s cares and replace them with secutiry and warmth (hypothetical, if Manson wants you to shiver you better bet that’s what you’ll be doing).

The dare is one of my favourite novellas ever, so make sure you read it first because it starts everything off for losers. The performance wasn’t bad I just didn’t want to risk it averaging and giving a better score to this book. Popular girl (Jessica) who's untouchable in high school, cheerleader, prom queen, impossible to cut up somehow, someway (after high school) ends up hooking up with this squad of outcasts who've all, to varying degrees, been mooning over her since forever but never in a MILLION years thought they had a shot.But the lust he inspired in me made him wicked, and the ease with which he bent me to his will was the closest thing to divinity I could imagine. His hand trailed over my body, rough and hard, when he pulled up my dress and pressed himself against me. If you enjoy books that have RH/Why Choose and lots of kinks in it with characters that you will fall madly in love with, then pick up this book. But not actually loads happens towards the end, I feel mostly because there’s a lot of emotional reflection.

That story ended after the one night, and I’d pretty much resigned myself to not holding my breath for a sequel. This book exceeded all my expectations, I came away not really having a crowd favourite but loving them all, though Mason is an inch in front of the others. You may also recognize him from his recurring character, hot-head Joey Novak, on _General Hospital_.The highschool times were really dramatised and cringey imo, but that was a problem left long in the past once we get to the time set after "The Dare".
