For action and nature photography, a great deal of practice and experience is required before your percentage of successful shots increases. Except for the reticle, there is nothing else between eye and subject, so a dot-sight only provides a 1:1 magnification. Used this for an Airshow on an em5 ii, great idea however it is quite fiddly to set up and can lose alignment. Good" because that might contribute to it not being necessary to recalibrate the device each time you fit it to the flash shoe.

Just after I had set this up a plane hoved into view and I used the dot sight to get a shot - not bad. yes, often times while simply mounting or unmounting the device one will inadvertently turn the alignment dial(s).I'd agree with the comments above though about proper setting up of the EE-1 before shooting, and whilst a tripod or such support probably isn't essential, it does make the job much easier if you can lock the camera down, focus on something at a suitable distance (using single point AF), then adjust the up/down, left/right positioning of the sight to match without fear of the camera moving. You lose so much field of view in your peripheral vision that finding and tracking subjects quickly becomes a real problem. The EE-1 makes more sense to use with very long focal lengths but if you intend to use different lenses, the best option is to configure it with the longest telephoto you have. The angle of view is so narrow that it can be difficult to keep your subject in the frame without having a larger view of the scene.

David, I have edited in image links since I made the first post - you may have missed them when replying to my initial post. The reticle’s precision is not affected so as long as you keep it on your subject it will remain at the centre of the frame.il problema di questo accessorio è proprio questo, da aperto oltre l'ingombro rimane esposto a polvere, umidità e urti accidentali che potrebbero o danneggiarlo o comprometterne il funzionamento. I make/sell a hotshoe sight rail that allows you to use any red dot sight of your choosing; and there are others as well.

Because the rifle scope is powered by a coin-type battery, it can be used when attached to the hot shoe or cold shoe. If you choose Release priority over Focus, you will take more shots but you won’t have any clue at all about how the camera is focusing since your eye won’t be on the LCD screen most of the time. Focus on a point with your lens make sure the object that you focus on is in the centre of your shot when looking at the camera screen. Use the up and down adjustment wheels on the dot sight to move the subject into the middle of the reticule.I have one - it works but the limited range of frame lines is a minor issue as it does give a very useful reference point to start with. Centering the red-dot sight requires the camera to be tripod-mounted, or at a minimum resting on a steady support (it is impossible to do this hand-held).

Although it's more of an advertisement for the PGD Tracker than an unbiased comparison, the vide has some informational value. For example if you set up everything for a 100mm lens and then change it for a 300mm lens, it is likely that you will need to reconfigure everything. The Sony a9 III is the world's first full-frame mirrorless camera to feature a global electronic shutter with simultaneous readout. Every innovation at OM SYSTEM is designed to deliver the highest quality of performance in a compact, lightweight.

b) it screws down tight onto the hot shoe, whereas (it's claimed) the Oly EE-1 dot sight is a bit wobbly on the hot shoe. I used it a few times with my Nikon DSLR and 200-500 lens but found that it didn't work as well as I had hoped. The disadvantage is that you cannot see the viewfinder and its displayed settings (no, the EE-1 does not provide a heads-up display of the camera live view, which would be a formidable achievement for a device this lightweight), so you have to trust C-AF to do its job, and you must shoot in rapid sequence to be able to choose the best shots at the end of the day. I do suspect that you might have to make a shade for the lens from an empty toilet paper roll or something on bright weather though since it does reflect some light, but I may be wrong.
