Evil Dead was captured digitally by cinematographer Aaron Morton in the RAW (4K) format using Sony CineAlta F65 cameras and Zeiss Master Prime, Fujinon Alura, and Angenieux Optimo lenses, and finished as 2K Digital Intermediate at the aspect ratio of 2. Personally, I love that the plot is essentially an ingeniously clever and imaginative allegory to the horror of drug withdrawals with a well-earned and satisfying conclusion about confronting your own worst enemy. The story, which was written by Uruguayan filmmakers Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues, takes place thirty years after the events of Raimi's original with another group of friends spending a weekend in the creepy cabin in the woods.

The 4K enhancement elevates the horror, immersing viewers in every gory detail and bone-chilling moment. The more notable improvement is a better, strong contrast and brightness balance, supplying the gory violence with intensely brilliant whites and richer, truer blacks. Factory has announced a new 4K edition that is releasing on September 27, 2022, as a part of the company’s impressively terrifying fall slate.

Making Life Difficult (HD, 8 min) — Similar to the above with added comments from director Fede Alvares, looking at the exhaustive process of filming and the physical toll on Levy. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment brings Fede Alvarez's 'Evil Dead (2013)' to Blu-ray with an UltraViolet Digital Copy.As we might imagine, there’s a plethora of red in the film so when someone is vomiting blood on another, we see it in the utmost clarity. Black Christmas, Anna and the Apocalypse, Oculus and It Follows are some of his favorite films of all time. Siempre he sido fan de la saga Evil Dead, y me encanta el remake de Fede Álvarez del año 2013, y en cuanto supe que la habían restaurado en formato UHD 4K la compré de inmediato. The story, which was written by Uruguayan filmmakers Fede Alvarez, making both his big-screen and American directorial debut, and Rodo Sayagues with some uncredited polishing by Diablo Cody in the dialogue, takes places thirty years after the events of the original.
