E-scooters within a trial scheme are insured as motor vehicles, and accident and journey data will generally be provided to the relevant scooter trial provider/company. In contrast, it is difficult to gather data on private e-scooter journeys and accidents. As e-bikes and e-scooters continue to grow in popularity so is the likelihood of property damage caused by fires from them. This protection is essential because, despite what you may think, your home insurance is unlikely to cover the theft of your electric scooter outside of the home. However, with specialist electric scooter insurance, you know your scooter is protected if you're on private land and have the landowner's permission. Injury to yourself
