TL;DR: They are both great monitors but go with the GL83A unless you really like an over-saturated look and aren't bothered by less color-accuracy in most content.

Using a fixed 144Hz signal results in screen flickering to the point where it's unusable, so it's better to enable VRR, which you can use up to 120Hz. LG 27GP95RP-B - Monitor Gaming UltraGear, 27 Pulgadas, IPS: 3840x2160, 16:9, 1ms, 144Hz, DCI-P3>98%, HDR10, HDMI 2.I swapped the Dell out for the GN850 once I received it and I've been using it side-by-side with the GL83A for the past couple of days. It has a QHD 2560 x 1440 27-inch screen, delivering visual immersion, and it supports both FreeSync and G-SYNC reducing screen tearing. HDR expands the contrast ratio (peak luminance and minimal black levels) and color palette to achieve more details across the whole image - from the darkest parts to the brightest ones, which results in more realistic and life-like image. the g-sync compatible monitor eliminates screen tearing and minimizes stutter for a smoother, faster gaming experience. However, it's not a good choice for dark rooms because it has a low contrast ratio that makes blacks appear closer to gray.

To me though the extra saturation looked off an unnatural more often than when it look nice and gave colors an extra pop. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. The LG 32GN650-B/32GN63T-B and the LG 27GN850-B/27GN880-B are both good monitors overall, although they use different panel types with different advantages. The LG 27GN850-B is an impressive gaming monitor that has features most people should enjoy, such as VRR support, an incredible response time, and extremely low input lag. They both have the same features: height adjust (smooth and feels good) tilt, and rotate (from landscape to portrait mode).

However, the LG supports HDR10, which the MSI doesn't, and it displays a wide color gamut, so it's a decent choice for HDR gaming. You can rotate the screen into portrait mode, but since you can only do it in the clockwise direction, the inputs are always on top.
