That means a player must first get Strike of the Giants at level 4, then take feats like Vigor of the Hill Giant. Quality will always trump quantity, and Glory of the Giants offers exciting new options for players and DMs alike. But with such limited player options and such a narrow focus on high-level adventures, it’s tough to recommend Glory of the Giants to the majority of D&D players.

This also includes some (limited) player options and a wealth of encounter features for DMs – all in line with the book’s gargantuan theme. Dungeons & Dragons lore says that a diverse group of giants pooled their talents to build the first runic colossus, with the goal of driving off a marauding dragon. There may be a few more runic colossi out there, but the blueprints have since been lost, so a campaign may involve some giants asking the party to recover those blueprints. If a truly horrible villain needs to be stopped, perhaps a freshly-built runic colossus can save the day.

Even for high-level parties facing powerful monsters, these great new magic items should prove highly useful and may spell the difference between life and death when roaming the land of giants. Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants also takes some familiar faces from D&D and adds new monster builds and interpretations. Take, for example, our old pals, the frost giants. The book builds on their inspiration from Norse mythology and mixes in some new lore that’s unique to D&D.
