With this in mind she has worked with both primary and secondary schools on confidence and resilience building programmes for young people. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. The lines are well spaced so will be easier to follow for those who lose their place on the page easily. Kathy’s new fiction series reveals the diary of Harper Drew and the frustrations, mishaps and headaches that crop up often with her crazy family and tricky friends at school.

It’s going to be great … apart from the fact Troy seems to care more about gaining more followers, aka his “DesTroyers” on his YouTube channel, than he does about helping me out. Welcome to the totally hilarious and utterly daft life of Harper Drew and her VERY eccentric family – from her totally hair-obsessed would-be internet celebrity brother, Troy, to her Uncle Paul, who swears he’s making a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio (well, he’s got a red carpet at least). The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products.

Gorgeously expressive illustrations by Aleksei Bitskoff and some seriously surreal escapades make this a fabulously fun read about being true to yourself, ideal for readers aged 9+.Harper introduces herself, her family and friends at the beginning as a sweet from a pic'n'mix selection. Suit Y3 onwards depending on ability, although suggested age is 9-11 probably because that's Harper's age. Kathy believes that children should all have confidence in their own potential, and not be limited by the beliefs they (or others) hold about themselves. I'm just hoping I land an invite to Maisie Felix's party when I'm back to distract me from the Drews. I’m just hoping I land an invite to Maisie Felix’s party when I’m back to distract me from the Drews… for one whole evening! and while there might not be camels, there are BATS and Llamas - and my brother Troy who is so obsessed with his hairstyle, he won't even go swimming.I also overheard both children talking about one of the characters in a way which demonstrated beautifully that humour really is a great way to teach children how to navigate the tricky issues that come up in the world of school politics. Daughter laughed out loud throughout the book but also asked some pretty insightful questions after a bit of thought - some relevant issues about friendships/family came up quite regularly but in such a subtle and realistic way that she did not realise she was learning about relationships.

She has worked on the music counter at WH Smith, been an investment banker, a waitress, a property developer, investigated missing millions for The Sultan of Brunei, founded a successful consulting business, worked for HM Treasury restructuring banks, oh.Aleksei Bitskoff's illustrations are a great complement to the text and I did enjoy the humour in the text, which has some laugh out loud moments. Her friends (and her choice of friends) are nicely created and drive through a refreshing story in a traditional device (diary). I love the fact it is still the illustrated diary format that kids love but with a strong, kind, funny girl as the lead.
