Nikki is amused by it and thinks MacKenzie will know what it's like ever since she uploaded that video of Nikki and Brianna dancing at Queasy Cheesy. This story mostly takes place in Nikki's school because that is where she is trying to find her diary. Just then, she notices someone coming out of the Queasy Cheesy next door and finds out, to her horror, it's Brandon, making her think the rumor might be true. You’re MAD at me because I spilled the beans that Brandon kissed you on a DARE just to get a free pizza! Now I've realised that although MacKenzie was the CCP Queen, has a really large and fancy house, is probably a multi-millionaire, has a penthouse-sized shoe closet, has a killer wardrobe and has easy-going parents, her life is still incomplete.

Not only is a dare like that rude and insensitive, but it’s a very cruel joke to play on a person like. I think Mackenzie just finally moved because she finally figured out she could never win against Nikki, and she didn't want to graduate middle school having to face her obnoxious "humiliation" of having a "dork" stand her up from the very beginning of the series to(what I'm assuming) is the very near end of it. If she shows up, she truly cares about you, and you can consider yourself lucky that you have a very special friendship.

MacKenzie is a wealthy, bratty, spoiled, vain and self-centered, but may possibly has good qualities too. Marcy is Mackenzie's assistant fashion director for the newspaper, but is bullied by Mackenzie, and is deemed to be unfashionable by the latter. Marcy arrives and thanks Nikki for letting her, Violet and Jenny go to NYC for Library Week in their place.

Let your children read this if you must but be warned that there is no lesson to be learned in here (not even cyberbullying was properly dealt with because everyone was so obsessed with their popularity) unless you want lessons in shaming other people like "Drama Queen Mackenzie". So absolutely totally unbelievable that it's funny (though not the drama, I'm SURE that to preteens going through hormonal changes EVERYthing is a total TRAGEDY that doesn't go according to PLANS, SQUEEEEEEE), which I guess is the whole point.I bought this one for my daughter at the school book fair and we decided to read it together – meaning I read it out loud to her. Anyway, at first I was thinking that maybe id outgrown it, because a lot of the drama in the first few pages could be solved through just communication.
