Split screen comparisons between the Director’s Cut and Theatrical Cut, and the Theatrical Cut and edited-for-TV versionAudio Commentary — Director Paul Verhoeven, producer Jon Davison and co-writer Ed Neumeier provide an interesting and insightful conversation about the production. Much of the discussion is scene-specific, but they each comment on various thoughts about the story, performances, creative choices and aspirations. A faithful take on Shelley’s story, the film follows Frankenstein, a brilliant scientist, who tries to cheat death by bringing a ‘man’ he’s assembled from assorted body parts to life, but only succeeds in creating a monster. Flesh and Steel (SD, 37 min) — A straightforward making-of doc with interviews of the filmmakers, talking on the plot's origins, praising Verhoeven, the casting, special effects, cinematography, the musical score and touching on various themes within the story. As the original camera negative only corresponded to the original R-rated theatrical version of the film, additional film elements were sourced from Take a look again at our 2014 Blu-ray Review coverage for a breakdown of that disc's A/V presentation. The Dolby Atmos mix was sourced from the original LCRS 4.0 mix and was produced by Arrow Films at Deluxe Audio in 2021. The original 4.0 and Days later, David awakes in a London hospital to find his friend is dead – but that’s just the start of his problems. He recovers from his injuries, but soon begins to experience disturbing changes to his mind and body. And, when he hits the streets of London under a full moon, it’s carnage…

We get the best of both worlds. Onboard computer assisted memory and a lifetime of on the street law enforcement programming. RoboCop Edited-for-Television (HD, 95 min): Presented in a 4:3 aspect ratio, the specs reveal that this version arrives in the HEVC encode with 10-bit color, but it is nonetheless limited to 1080p HD in the Rec.709 color gamut at 60fps. Arrow Video’s Limited Edition and Steelbook 4K Ultra HD releases of RoboCop give the film plenty of added value with a bevy of bonus materials and a great transfer. Besides a couple of missing extras, the breadth and quality of this release is worthy of an upgrade. It’s about as definitive as RoboCop gets on home video. Highly recommended!
