Description

Aberfeldy 16 Year Old, Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is from the Aberfeldy Distillery known for its "Golden Dram" a name that refers to the deposits of gold found on the land on which the distillery is built. Please note that local taxes and customs duties are likely to be charged by the destination country. Aberfeldy’s founders founders built the distillery by the Pitilie Burn and it still draws its water from that same stream – one that is renowned for its pure, fresh quality, and for its deposits of alluvial gold. The dram opens with aromas of caramel, toffee apples, and butterscotch before moving into a palate of orange zest, lemon peel, and baking spices. In 1972 the distillery was enlarged, and the old stills were replaced by four new steam heated stills.

About: Today over 125 years later, the charming distillery still stands as testament to a tradition of whisky-making stretching back over generations steeped in history and heritage. It combines the fresh spring water of the Pitilie Burn with generations of craftsmen to produce an outstanding single malt whisky renowned for its heather honey softness and full body. If you terminate your account, you will no longer have access to the Service and your Contributions (specified below), if any.Aromas of raisins, butterscotch and sweet spices fill the nose, and the palate offers notes of dark chocolate, orange peel, banana, raisins and caramel. The old train resides on site to this day, close to the distillery’s main buildings, which include the original pagoda tower – an iconic symbol of Scotch whisky architecture.

You hereby represent and warrant that you are authorized to make any Contributions, that your Contributions and the use by us will not infringe or violate the rights of any third party. The name 'Aberfeldy' (just as any names with the prefixes 'Aber', 'Lhan', 'Pit' or 'Fin') implies the existence of a Pictish settlement in the nearby area. Rather than their usual battles on the martial arts mats they are going to let the whiskies do the fighting. The Second World War also caused barley supplies to be cut, and the distillery was again forced to shut down for some of this period.
