On the rear of the camera, you’ll find a micro-USB port for charging, plus the screw-mount attachment, while a sync button that’s used for setup – or to perform a factory reset – sits on the top of the camera. Both EufyCam 2have now been installed for a bit more than a week. I find the video quality very good, for sure not a 4K quality but impressive for a 1080P during daytime and at night I’ve big Motion Detect Spotlights, so the quality is still very good. Night vision using IR was especially impressive, and bested all of my other cameras in my home, including the eufyCam 2.

The Arlo Pro 2's free 7-day rolling-cloud storage and its deep app make it quite appealing. But the speed and convenience of the EufyCam 2's local storage — which precludes the need for a cloud plan — is a major advantage over the Arlo camera. What's more, unlike the Arlo, all of Eufy's features are available without buying a subscription. Still, in my tests, I had some issues with Eufy's audio. The Eufy's daylight videos weren't quite as detailed as the Arlo Pro 2's. And both have the same weakness: blurry, pixelated night-vision videos. The biggest issue that I see with the 2C is that seemingly at random, pulling up a feed within Apple's Home app takes a lengthy amount of time, upwards of 10-20 seconds. Most of the time, though, it takes just a couple seconds, which is great, but it is jarring when you hit one of these spells. Speaking of the Home app, the eufyCam 2C's 2-way audio and floodlight is nowhere to be found in Apple's smart home app at this time. The "front door" camera is needed to be charged for a second time now. Night mode is insane. It literally notifications you when a bug gets too close or a cat runs across the scanning zone. The Eufy web portal (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE9 and Edge) is next to useless. Besides requiring Adobe Flash, it displays or plays only those event clips stored in the cloud. You can't access videos from the HomeBase. The web portal's only functions are monitoring the Live View, managing your cloud subscriptions and viewing cloud-stored videos – all of which are well-handled by the mobile app. The portal has none of the app's other functions or settings. Overall, if you are looking to go with a neutral but high-quality camera or doorbell system, I think EufyCam 2 and related accessories are fantastic. They are easy to use, feature advanced features other systems don't have, there are no hidden costs or monthly fees, you control your data, and I haven't had any issues at all.
