Description

There's nothing especially impressive about its inbuilt protection system that prevents the fan from overheating and nothing that interesting about the handle that this model comes adopting. But the same sentiment cannot be extended towards its operation reaching 200 CFM and covering rooms that measure at least ~25-30 square metres.

A fast fan speed of 1600rpm max. circulates between 130 - 150 CFM (cubic feet air/ minute) and automatically adjusts according to the temperature in the room, spinning faster as the temperature rises and slowing down as it drops. VonHaus is a well-regarded name in the home improvement field but they are certainly not experts in stove fans like Valiant are. Still, they have an effective heat distributing model in the VonHaus XL 4 Blade Stove Fan, which is for those with the space for a larger stove fan but is perhaps looking for a model that is a little more affordable. Without a stove fan, there is a risk that all of the warmed air will stay close the the wood stove and won’t be felt in other parts of the room.

SAVE ON ENERGY BILLS: Your log burner fan requires no power source other than the heating source you already have, meaning it's a savvy choice to make your appliances go further when nights turn colder. SAVE ON ENERGY BILLS: Thanks to the built-in thermoelectric module, your log burner fan requires no power source other than the heating source you already have, meaning it’s a savvy choice to make your appliances go further when nights turn colder.

Besides that, the model's more than comparable to most fans we've reviewed here. You have the standard temperature gauge that allows you to monitor and optimise the stove's efficiency to prevent overheating. Its operating temperature ranges from 50 to 350 degrees Celcius, standard numbers except that, more often than not, the unit does not start working before the stove reaches ~70 degrees, which's unfortunate but not too concerning. This fan has an operating temperature of 65 °C. Once the stove reaches this temperature, the fan’s blades will begin to spin. The stove fan will then continue to circulate air around the room until the stove has cooled down. One other benefit of stove fans is that they can also help with distributing heat in small rooms where it may get too hot. They can work to create a more even temperature throughout the whole space. It’s easy to set up – all you need to do is place this stove fan on the smooth, flat surface of your stove top. It measures 19 cm tall and has a reasonably compact base of approximately 10 x 7 cm, making it suitable for the majority of stoves. This makes it perfect for stoves with sloping, irregular surfaces or simply where you don’t have sufficient space above your stove. It is also suitable for flat-top stoves that just don’t come up to a high enough temperature (cool tops).

This model comes with a 2-year warranty for parts and labour, and that’s double the length of most of the warranties available from other brands so thats something to consider when choosing one. Pros Here at Homebuilding.co.uk we like to get our hands dirty and trial as many products as possible, but in the instances where we aren’t able to, such as the best stove fan, we leave no stone unturned to provide you with the crucial information you need to know before buying. Most stove fans will start to work at around 50° to 65°C, while the maximum temperature is usually around 340°C. Many stove fans give an optimum operating range that starts 25°C or so higher than the starting temperature. How long is the warranty that the stove fan comes with? SELF POWERED & REGULATING: Your heat powered fan automatically starts spinning once the stove’s heat begins to rise above 50°C. Monitor the heat with the included thermostat. This stove fan also runs virtually silently, producing less than 25 dB. This is great news for creating a comfortable home atmosphere; it won’t interrupt any television programmes or music.
