I was really excited every time I would have a costume fitting because I’d get to see these amazing costumes around me, and I’d get to see ideas for future costumes for future episodes. Then I’d get to try on the poofy dresses. It was an amazing experience getting to be on that set. Frenchy is fun-loving, bubbly, flighty, and a bit of an airhead, but a very friendly young girl carving her own path. She was uprooted from her New York roots to move to California, and subsequently, endured bullying from the girls at her school, especially Betty Rizzo. One day, Betty stood up for Frenchy, who declared they would be best friends from then out. This is a key aspect of Frenchy's personality - she doesn't hold grudges and is keen on making friends. She admired her older sister and looked up to her. Though she coveted after her things and the romantic drama in Jane's life, she also respected her sister. Once in high school, Frenchy joined the gang that her sister started four years earlier, the Pink Ladies. When she saw the new girl Sandy Olsson, Frenchy instantly befriended her and made sure she felt welcome in Rydell. Something that not even Betty did for Frenchy when she moved to Rydell. Frenchy, however, wasn't keen on school and dropped out to enter beauty school and become a beautician, but she dropped out after her hair turned pink in tinting class. Jane’s room is Frenchy’s room in the original movie. It’s the exact room from the movie. It was amazing to me, and I’m so glad I got to be a part [ Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies]. The next morning, Kitty reprimanded Fran as she needed to be seen but not heard. She tried to explain why she didn't want to explain she was Puerto Rican, but Fran didn't understand. Jane insisted mother knew best and left for school.

When it comes to projects coming up, I’m constantly working. I just released a new song. It’s called “Us Against the World.” In " So This Is Rydell?", The Facciano's hosted a fancy dinner party where they attempted to fit in with the upper-class guests. The paternal guest Jim Johnson liked Jane's run for student president and thought it would make a good story for his show. He wanted to show a changing Rydell, though a drunk woman could look outside her door to see the town changed - three new Mexican families with their “god-awful music” moved onto her street. Ethel didn't think Kitty looked like her girl's mother at all, being of a darker complexion. She assumed it was from being Italian and from a different region than Vincent. Fran tried to correct Ethel, but Kitty and Vincent interrupted her to ask about Jim's show. The Johnsons suggested the Faccianos join their Athletic Club. Fran gagged from the corner when her appetizer looked like cake but was meat. Not in season 1. There aren’t any for me in season 1. But if there is a season 2, I’m definitely hoping for one. I’ve been training musically since I was six years old professionally. I think it’d be really cool to give Frenchy a song to sing or to sing with other characters. I feel like that would be such a cool part of her story to add that along to it. We’re just going to have to keep our fingers crossed for season 2. It was really fun. It was a really good experience. I love being able to play Frenchy, she’s such a fun character. And I’ve watched the movie 38 times at this point.

You have great comedic timing. Is comedy something that you wanted to do or was it just something that came natural to the role? Let’s discuss your turn as Frenchy in [ Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies] because it’s such an iconic role. Did you study the original film or did you want to give an impression of the role with your own spin? I spoke to Lagares about her take on the iconic character, her hopes for Frenchy in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, whether we’ll get to see her in a musical number this season and more! It helps that the writers of the show are amazing and the script is phenomenal, but I think for a while I was more focused on dramas and being able to take on roles with emotional scenes, so when this was given to me I realized my potential when it comes to comedy. The more that I’ve been working on it, the better it has gotten. Don't think we have forgotten about the other feature characters, though. We have costume and accessory options that will let you become Rizzo, Frenchy, Jan, and the rest of the Pink Ladies. You can also make sure that car is genuine Grease Lightning by becoming the new leader of the T-Birds, too. (And, if all that fails, you can always head off to beauty school with those costumes.) In " We're Gonna Rule the School", Mrs. Facciano refused her youngest daughter Fran's plea to get her ears pierced like her best friend Betty. Kitty told Jane to talk to Fran about Betty. Jane agreed to do it later and hurried off to school. Do you have a favorite set, besides the room that’ll eventually become Frenchy’s, and a favorite costume?I want people to have an aha moment with her to be like “Oh my gosh that’s how she became the badass iconic Frenchy that people know. The sweet, loyal friend.” This is how she started off and I kind of want it to be like her growing from being who she is in the first few episodes, and her learning from other people. Learning confidence and learning how to speak up for herself. And eventually taking the place of her older sister, who she looks up to, and becoming a Pink Lady herself. For season 1, definitely, it shows a lot of growth in the beginning to the end, and I’m excited for people to see more. Really, the only thing we aren't sure about is what that exactly means. Are we talking about teenage rebellion? Is that the time? The place? The motion? That's a tough one to answer. Whether you're diving into the stageplay, the epic hit movie, or even the sequel, trying to put a thumb down on the one thing that makes Grease such perfection is quite the ordeal. (You might as well be Danny trying his hand at all the various sports available at Rydell High!) I was still new to the voice so after I started watching the movie over and over again to get the nuances and details of her voice. From there I made it my own. Her facial expressions and her mannerisms, I put it as a mixture of both Didi Conn and me, so I was able to make [Frenchy] original to me but also keep it true to Didi Conn. The Facciano's went to the Athletic Club for a tour. They were greeted by the club's director and a Hispanic maid, whom the director insisted Kitty give her coat. He ushered them along on a tour and assured them that they would fit in as they welcomed Italians into the club for five years. Jane noticed how many of the employees were Hispanic, then joined her family in the Founders Room. Fran noticed her sister's discomfort, and Jane masked it as not feeling well. She wanted a minute alone.

So I think throughout the show I want there to be Frenchy taking herself into her own and building this relationship that she has with Rizzo which I think a lot of people really love. I love it, too. I think it’s a friendship that nobody knew they ever needed but they do. They call it Frizzo. We definitely need to keep that Frizzo thing going. Fortunately, there are better ways to get in touch with Grease that won't require all of that confounding effort. All you need to do is take a look at our wide variety of Grease costumes. We have looks designed in our own in-house studios that will bring your favorite characters to life or even let you create your own Rydell wonder to jam alongside the crew. Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, the prequel series to the beloved ’70s film, is streaming now on Paramount+. Fans of the movie were excited to learn that Frenchy is a part of the show. We meet her when she’s in middle school. She and her family moved from New York City about a year ago, but she’s still finding it difficult to fit in. Thank goodness, Frenchy has Rizzo whose teasing is friendly not malicious and who defends her against bullies trying to give her a hard time.In the 2023 prequel, Fran is a young girl in her last years of junior high. She has wavy dark brown hair, wide brown eyes, and is of Italian-Puerto Rican descent. She decides to pierce her ears - with help from Betty - even though her mother forbids it.
