Description

As well as all the features you’d expect from this line of flashes, such as TTL and HSS, Godox has added new and improved features into this third version. The principle of Godox's policy is to create products that meet all quality standards. Before introducing a product to the market, we subject it to numerous tests and controls, thanks to which we are sure that the introduced product will function flawlessly. Each product is covered by a guarantee and warranty in accordance with applicable law, Godox is not responsible for financial losses and other civil law consequences caused by a defect in the advertised device (loss of profit, turnover, inability to conduct business). The improved high-capacity lithium-ion battery supports your photographic journey with a fast charge time (1.5 seconds maximum) and 480 flashes at full power. If you’re looking for a workhorse flash with a ton of features and a battery that just seems to keep going and going, the Godox V860 III is an excellent choice.

If you think these specifications and features of the V860 III sound familiar, you’re right. The V860 III shares a lot of similarities with Godox’s V1 flash. The biggest differences between the V860 III and the V1 is the shape of the flash head (rectangular versus round) and the position of the modeling light (on the flash body versus on the flash head). Firing off a couple of test shots and it’s instantly apparent that this flash has some serious power, and tilting the head up to bounce off the ceiling with the bounce card extracted the fall of illumination from the flash does the job of lighting my subject a couple of metres away. The tilt and bounce have exposured the subject well using the TTL function. Overall illumination and colour temperature all look good and natural. Used as a dedicated flash, there is little to separate this from Sony’s offering but at half the price, and the same goes for the other manufacturers. Of course, this is no ProFoto A1 or Nikon SB-900 of Canon EL-1 this is very much mid-range. Those flashguns are at the next level up, but for most enthusiasts and semi-pro photographers, the Godox VING V860III SPEEDLIGHT will provide you with the quality of illumination you need. Integrating transmitter and receiver in one flash, the V860III gives you the maximum flexibility and convenience to co-work with other flashes. What's in the Boxdamage resulting from improper use or storage of the product not in accordance with the user manual and safety regulations The V860III (Zoom III R2 TTL) still has all the features existing users know and love, including a zoom mode (20mm to 200mm) for easy light range adjustments, -7 to 120-degree vertical angle adjustment, the built-in 2.4G Wireless X system allowing for seamless connectivity of multiple flash heads and Triggers like the X1, a High-Speed Sync (HSS) capable of shooting up to 1/8000s, FEC, FEB, and rear curtain sync modes. The V860III can be used as a controller for three other groups of flashes - even if it’s not being used as a flash itself. As a transmitter, the V860III can trigger the V1, the AS200 Pro, and the AD 300 Pro. As a receiver, the V860III can be triggered by the X1, X2, Xpro, and the V1. One of the things I love about Godox flashes is the ease with which you can set up transmitters and receivers. Using one flash or commander to trigger another off-camera flash is simple and takes seconds. Further playing with the flash reveals this flash’s depth of quality. The refresh rate at around 50-75% power is far less than a second, and only after several hours of shooting did that refresh rate start to slow. In most use I didn’t have to wait for the recycle time, it was just primed and ready.

The Flash head can be zoomed from 20mm to 200mm automatically or manually, allowing you to conveniently adjust the light beam. Whether you’re shooting in a wide space or a narrow location, the V860III will work perfectly. The V860III comes equipped with a built-in 2.4G wireless X System for worry free connectivity and is compatible with Godox X System triggers such as the X1, X2 and Xpro. I’ve concentrated on the new features for this review, as all of the standard features are just as you’d expect from Godox. All versions of the V860 III come with TTL, manual flash, high-speed sync up to 1/8000 second, rear-curtain sync, stroboscopic flash, flash exposure compensation, and autofocus assist beam for low lighting situations. The Godox V860III TTL Li-Ion Flash Kit is fully compatible with TTL systems and contains everything you need right out of the box. Contains a battery, battery charger, USB cable, mini stand and protective case and is available for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm and Olympus/Panasonic cameras. Thirdly, there’s the AC charging cable and charging plate for the battery. Finally, there’s the hot shoe plate quarter-inch plate adapter for attaching the flash to lighting stands. First Impressions and Build Quality The Godox V860III has a horizontal rotation angle of 0° to 330° and a vertical rotation angle of -7° to 120° to allow for direct flash, bounce flash and more!
