Description

This perfume ended up lasting 9 and a half hours on me and its sillage was I'd say about moderate on my skin.

Overall, it's a classic floral/powdery with a bit of sweetness scent, ideal for all year round especially spring with very good performance. Spray with moderation in summer as it could be overwhelming, strong and potent. I adore wearing this in warmer months, but it is really unique and crisp in colder months too. I’d wear this around my old boss or if I worked in retail and I didn’t want people to come close to me, like in a good way I guess. Dry down becomes a tad bitter. I googled hawthorn and is a toxic/decaying smell? Hold the fragrance 5 inches away and spray your skin, focusing on pulse points. Alternatively, spray generously in front of you and walk through for a full coverage. Don’t rub the fragrance in, as it will affect the trail.

S8 PRESCRIPTION

I got a little tester of this. Tbh I can't really distinguish all that many notes here. It's super soft, clean and wispy. Gentle musk and a faint idea of vanilla "dominate". There's a touch of powder too and a most timid soft floral note. The little sweetness I get is VERY understated. If I smelled this on a woman I might wonder if she just uses a very fancy soap. Up close it smells a lot richer, still soft..but richer. U[p close is the only time I can really tell there's something deeper in here, but in the air? Powder bomb. I feel pretty much the same way about the heart notes too, loving the powdery parma violet, soft and lush rose and sweet and fragrant jasmine, but the opoponax is again too much and makes this fragrance too heavy for me, what with its warm spicy and balsamic quality and all. A little goes a long way (at least, on me). The powder aspect is extremely strong, but has an undercurrent of bruised petals (not Johnson & Johnson). Thing is - you need to sniff the skin (at least on me) to get that wonderful trail of bruised petals - in the air, it's more like a powderbomb - and sweet. Still quite agreeable to me. I also noted an evanescent With FLOWER BY KENZO L’Absolue, KENZO is celebrating its favourite flower: the poppy. Among its lush petals, a powdery heart bursts with liveliness. In a gust of air, the flower casts its powder to the wind, sprinkling the world with thousands of unfurling buds. Saffron, the precious ingredient in this new perfume for women, blends with a bouquet of Orange Blossom and Damascena Rose Absolute. In the base notes, the fragrance distills sensual Vanilla Musks. This more intense addition to the FLOWER BY KENZO range reveals every aspect of the FLOWER BY KENZO woman: a poetic activist. KENZO stands with Masami Charlotte Lavault, an activist flower farmer and founder of the first flower farm in Paris, and supports her cause to: “make ecology irresistible!”

In trying to understand the impact of this scent on me, I did a little research. And found it in Chandler Burr's February 25, 2007 piece for the New York Times, on 'ghost flowers' - and the nigh impossibility of distilling certain true absolutes: It took everything in me not to blind buy Flower for the bottle alone, which is adorable and reminiscent of growing up in the early aughts, so I mustered up some self control and got a sample instead. While I don’t think this would be a safe blind buy for everyone, it definitely would have been for me as someone who appreciates powdery florals and musks.

I collect powdery scents, but this is, to my surprise, way too green for me to perceive it as powdery, to be honest. It's a decent smelling fragrance, don't get me wrong... It reminds me of summer fields, somehow... when it's too hot outside and it hasn't rained for couple of days...it also reminds of some dry herbs, maybe... I think it's really cool that Kenzo have tired to create what they think the smell of a poppy is. Apparently it doens't have a scent so, the concept is great! Once the powderyness calms down a bit, this perfume starts to smell really weird but I love it. It smells like play doh dipped in vanilla....with some floral powder over the top. This is how it smells on lots of people I've smelled it on, but others? I have smelled more of a bouquet. There are moments when I listen to my breath. I do it in silence, almost always without incense. If a perfume reaches me it’s usually mild. The base notes of musk and vanilla are lovely and lend themselves well to this fragrance, but the incense ruins things for me somewhat and makes Flower by Kenzo too smoky a fragrance for me. I like my fragrances to smell a bit lighter and more floral and this is not it. Flower has quite a fruity opening, sweet yet aquatic. The orange is sweet yet fresh, and I get a hint of melon. A light, dewy rose note emerges shortly afterwards, joined by violet. Instead of the beautiful delicacy of the flower itself, this is candied Parma violets. It is almost overwhelmingly sweet here, not my favourite thing. When the sweetness subsides, the baby powder accord that many reviewers below have mentioned comes to the fore. It reminds me of a more intense, sweeter version of Prada Infusion d'Iris. Some cassis is evident here. And sitting at home this same evening, I’m so glad I fell for it. This one is perfection in the same way as the original - makes me think and say: Hey!! 😍 Where have you been all my life? !! This is just Me. The original is more powder and a bit more for colder seasons, in my realm, and this one is more creamy and a bit more for warmer seasons. They are different from eachother, but they are alike in their soft womanly delightful bliss of being all satisfied, calm and content. I am so happy!! As much as a fragrance can give you happiness..?🌱🌸🌺 My powdery compliment guarantee. "Flower by Kenzo (Eau de Parfum) | Kenzo" is possibly one of the most underrated fragrances. I smelled the Eau de Parfum for the first time at the airport and immediately fell in love. I absolutely had to have it!

This opens with a huge burst of powder! This is all violet, creamy powdery tones but still modern smelling. Not vintage in anyway. The two scent molecules in the base are quite interesting. Hedione is used to give this extra sillage and it really works. This one leaves a lovely trail behind you. And so: This is indeed flower power - a blossom strong enough to stand up to a gun. And - as a power flower, it contains in its scent both life and death. The first sniff said to me: this is a real...this is drama. A gorgeous flower with a knife to its own throat, willing to slit its stalk and give its own life - and before you know it, it's done so. Lopped off its lovely head - now a cut flower, ready to die, and releasing layers of its vital essence in a great cloud... then turning to intense powder. This one takes my breath away. Cold Clean scent dry down to makeup second skin scent with bit of bitterness ,but I’ve never smelt anything like this before. Its NOT an alluring scent, it kind of gives you a clean airy 5cm sillage barrier around people lol - I think this perfume projects that you are on a higher social status compared to whoever you’re around, possibly the unfamiliarity with the hawthorn, combined with the makeupy scent that kinda says “I’ve got quality makeup on”. It’s actually kind of complex and has subtle layers. It seems like you’re not wearing perfume but you’re a different species of human. Kenzo's perfumes tend to be a cut above other offerings from designer houses. From Ça Sent Beau to Jungle, I have been impressed with the creativity of this house. Flower is no different. Its distinctive bottle - tall, thin, slightly tilted in the manner of a flower leaning against a vase - is both pretty and original, suiting the name and concept of this perfume beautifully. The perfume itself is quite lovely - floral, obviously, but with fruity and woody nuances that serve to enhance the florals. Deceptively light, the drydown is powdery and the performance better than average. It is very feminine, given its floral sweetness, but is well-blended and quite unusual. In new 2021 the bitter and the zesty citric side always predominates, perhaps due to the lemon that overcomes roses.I appreciate the youthfulness that this scent embodies. Many reviewers have said it’s mature but i disagree. I like the way that the notes surrounding such a prominent violet give way to a very delicate, airy and fresh powder rather than a dank soapy aldehydic powder associated with a more mature scent profile. In my opinion, the scent begins slightly "in your face" with a very fresh sharpness, which most likely comes from the ginger. Paired with the floral note of violets, awesome!
