Biography – ERIH

While diving into the history of the Davidoff house, I got to explore his second fragrance Zino (1986)after writing about the first one, Davidoff Original (1984) (Read all about why Zino, and who Davidoff is,as well as a brief history of the Davidoff brand here). Paired with a glass of Laphroaig 10 and and a glass of Glenfiddich 12 (not the best choice but it was the only not peated in the house lol). It paired well, in my humble opinion at least, with both but more with the Islay. It think would pair very well with a good coffee as well. They are thrilled with the outcome and believe that the blend of the new Zino Cigars will satisfy those seeking a taste profile characterised by earthy notes, spices, and a touch of sweetness. After the first chypre fragrance, it would have been logical for the brand to move towards fougère compositions, following Azzaro Pour Homme, or to create a real big tobacco fragrance that highlights the brand's origins. I'd love a Davidoff perfume of cigar or tobacco leaves! But Davidoff has not chosen that path, instead ending up in a blue sea of freshness with their hit fragrance Cool Water in the late eighties.In the 1990s, the Davidoff writing instruments and the Davidoff coffee were launched.
