To melt in the microwave, place your candy in a microwave-safe container or disposable decorating bag and microwave at 50% power or defrost setting for 1 minute. Stir thoroughly in container or knead bag. Return to the microwave, stirring or kneading at 30-second intervals until candy is mostly melted.

If too much steam is releasing from the saucepan, turn down your heat. Water and steam can cause your Candy Melts to seize, rendering them unusable. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil. Then, place a bowl onto the pot of water and make sure it fits tightly. The bottom of the bowl shouldn’t touch the water. Whether you choose to melt them in the microwave or on a bain-marie, these candy melts are super easy to use and mould. The best thing about chocolate covered strawberries is that they are so versatile. You can top your strawberries with whatever you feel like. Here are some delicious ideas: The techniques we have listed in today’s articles are all tried and tested! And, you don’t even have to adjust the consistency or alter the mixture in any way! Simply melt and use! What Are Candy Melts?Wilton's pink candy melts have a deliciously smooth vanilla flavour, giving your cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and other homemade treats a boost in flavour and colour. Genetically Modified Sugar, Vegetable oils (palm kernels, Hydrogenated palm kernel), Whole MILKpowder, whey powder ( MILK), skimmed MILKpowder, Emulsifier ( SOYAlecithin), Salt, Colours (E171, E129*), Flavour. Candy bark is a great candy project for beginners. It’s easy to customize with your favorite colors and toppings and makes a great handmade gift for parties or the holidays. Everything is better with a candy coating! From apple slices to potato chips, you can have fun dipping all your favorite foods into your favorite Candy Melts candy colors.

You can also thin out your melted candy with solid vegetable shortening (2 tablespoons per 12 oz. bag). Do not use liquid vegetable oil, butter, milk, water or any other liquid to thin your candy. These will all cause your candy to break or seize, rendering it unusable. This can also happen if your candy is burned or overheated. Double Boiler: The double boiler method uses steam to melt your candy and is great if you’re planning to melt large amounts.Melt 12 ounces of dark chocolate to 115°-120° Fahrenheit (46 °-49 °C), milk chocolate to 110°-115° F (43 °-46 °C), or white chocolate to 105-110° F (40 °-43 °C) using the microwave or a double boiler on the stove using the same method as melting compound chocolate. Make sure your strawberries are dry! You do not want water in your chocolate! Get a paper towel to dry your strawberries as much as possible before coating. You can add more powdered sugar if you’d like. I’ve found this ratio is my favorite. For me, too much powdered sugar takes away from the flavor. While you are waiting, be sure to stir your bowl of chocolate, to make sure it doesn't cool too much around the edge. I use compound chocolates (colored Candy Melts) to create the painted parts (nose, eyes, bowties, etc.) You could use colored pure white chocolate or colored cocoa butter but I prefer using Candy Melts because it's the easiest method and the colors are vibrant.
