Process was a bit fiddly but I got it and still works like a champ! Couldn't be happier I don't have switch the power cords all the time. Best of both worlds as they say. Immediately continue working even with a damaged cable, as the cable can be replaced with a single hand movement Since almost all Festool tools are equipped with the plug-it system, the cable simply needs to be reconnected. This saves time and removes tripping hazards – one cable instead of a tangle of cables.

All it took so far was to drill the tiny holes to make room for the small thingies. Obviously placement was critical but it didn't take more than 10 minutes total. Wires inside double insulated powertools don't have to follow the same rules as set for the mains net ( I think). With most double insulated tools (only two wires no earth lead) they are usually also fitted with a double pole switch which switches both wires and it really doesn't matter which wire goes to active. The two small metal tubes are called 'ferrules', and they are not supposed to be soldered on. Ferrules should be crimped. Just thread them onto the cable, and squeeze with pliers to stop them falling off. Then screw them down.
