I set my aperture to f8 and my shutter speed to either 1/500 or if there is not much light then I reduce this to 1/250 or less if required. The aperture is f8 to give me a large depth of field. The relatively fast shutter speed is so as to avoid my photos being spoilt by camera shake or motion blur. The long review (for those who are new to Fujifilm): Okay, okay, I knew I couldn’t get away with a one sentence review. After all, not only is the X70 Fujifilm’s smallest camera with an APS-C sensor, but it is also the first serious competitor for the venerable Ricoh GR. For these two reasons alone, it is worth serious consideration. Would a foray with the X70 or X-A3 be a good way to try out Fuji? (I know the X70 is fixed lens). Or just wait and get X-T2 perhaps. Manual control dials instead of menus are important to me. The battery Fujifilm has decided to use in the X70 is the tiny NP-95. If I can squeeze a little over 300 images out of it, I’m proud of myself. The battery life is truly disappointing and one of the main reasons I choose to carry my X-T5 with me at all times instead of the X70, even though I have a spare battery. The only redeeming feature is the ability to charge the battery internally, even though the USB is still the older Micro-B instead of a current Type-C. What I Like About the Camera If you’ve made it to the end of this review, you’ll have realised that my feelings about this camera are very positive.

The menu for the Fujifilm X70 will be instantly recognisable and usable for anyone who has ever used a Fujifilm X Series camera. The touch screen is a joy, fully articulating for all the selfie fans, but no veiw finder, not a deal breaker for me. The first thing you’ll notice when you turn on the X70 is a prompt asking whether you want to use the camera in High or Low performance mode. In High mode, the AF is faster and the time it takes for the camera to restart is reduced. In Low mode, a power saving mode is activated to prolong the battery life. The power management menu The X70 is also a great gift for your favorite photographer or a photo hobbyist who appreciates well-made cameras. The procedure is confusing, but you can set the first four characters of the filenames as you wish — but there is no "_," just letters or digits.Granted, the camera weighs very little so there is very little muscle strain involved in shooting with or even just carrying this camera.

In this case, more important is to notice how expertly the flash balances with dim ambient light for a very natural look; a typical DSLR would have washed-out Ryan!Menu system is abysmal, and no "my menu" means you can't even compensate for it with a curated menu. ah yes: better app! I wonder why no camera-manufactor includes plug ins🤔 so you can log into your google photo, apple photo, lightroom,… account on your camera. It would be so convenient, as if you shoot on your phone, the photo appears on all your devices… ND filter – and acrivate it with the auto-switch button (who needs this on a x70?? Fuji Get rid of that) What seems like a focus ring is programmable to control ISO sensitivity, Film Simulation modes, white balance, continuous shooting or the cropping modes. Now, OK, nobody wrote that the pictures weren’t good, but handling, controls, focus performance, speed… were supposed to be so poor that Fuji was all but requested to take it off the market.
