Description

Dmitri and Jocasta were kidnapped by the previous Tsar at a young age and kept as hostages along with Vlad. When Ivan attempted to take Jocasta by force, the trio escaped and started a revolution when Ivan had their families slaughtered. Dmitri became cold and ruthless, craving power at any cost, while Jocasta became increasingly withdrawn, especially when Dmitri forced her to have his children through a cloning programme. Our Vampires Are Different: Vampires are not susceptible to garlic, crosses or any of the usual methods. The only ways to deal with vampires are sunlight, fire and steel.

After the Last Revolution, many of the old Soviet states and nations lay in ruins. But from the ashes the Mafiya Clans rose, remaking themselves as aristocratic dynasties. Vladimir the Conqueror emerged as leader of the most powerful house, the Makarovs, and appointed himself Tsar of All the Russias. This brave new world mixes aliens and anachronisms, with bio-weapons and shapeshifters as common as Imperial concubines and noble duels. Nothing is ever as it seems.

FIRST APPEARANCE IN THE MEGAZINE

Heroes/Honour be damned" tends be used when someone calls him a hero or tells him to act with honour. A criminally underrated actor. Gjokaj could portray Dante’s masculinity well. Additionally, I believe he could put across Dante’s humour in an understated way. Which would make his version of Dante a firm fan favourite. Like Isaac, Gjokaj has the energy to be Nikolai Dante but perhaps like Gadiot he is more introverted. This is not how Dante comes across in the comics. Don’t get me wrong. Gjokaj and Gadiot are fine actors and it’s possible they could make Dante more introverted depending on the storyline. Furthermore, Gjokaj would kill it as an older, battle-scarred Dante from the Romanov/Makarov conflict. Duels Decide Everything: As part of the strip's Anachronism Stew, duelling is a major part of Russian society. Notably, at the conclusion of the revolution against Ivan the Oppressor, Vladimir Makarov and Dmitri Romanov duelled for the right to become Tsar.

Large and in Charge: Konstantin is physically larger than the rest of his siblings. In any other work, he would actually count as a Heroic Build and he actually resembles Superman. This especially counts in his Lord Protector armour. Brought somewhat reluctantly into the fold by the Romanovs, Dante had a turbulent relationship with his half-siblings Konstantin, Andreas, Viktor, Nastasia, Lulu and Arkady (especially Konstantin, who resented him, and young Arkady, who hated him), complicated further by his love-hate relationship with Jena Makarov, daughter of the Tsar.Nikolai Dante was created by writer Robbie Morrison and artist Simon Fraser. The lead character, Dante, first appeared in 1997 in Prog 1035, and he made his final appearance in 2012 in Prog 1791. Fraser was the primary artist for the first three years of the series, with support from artists including Charlie Adlard, Henry Flint, Chris Weston and Andy Clarke. From 2000, the majority of the stories were painted by John Burns, until Fraser returned to the character in October 2006, when the two artists began to alternate on different stories. Morrison is now working on a spin-off series set in the same universe. [1] Plot [ edit ] Taste me drink my soul — Regeneration 5 + Diehard (Both have source: human blood), Benefit 1 (Unaging as long as she drinks Deathless blood with some regularity). After spending much of his early life as a thief and con man, in 2666 AD Dante accidentally acquired a Romanov 'Weapons Crest', a piece of sentient alien technology originally intended for his half-brother Arkady Romanov. The Weapons Crest bonded with him in a symbiotic relationship, giving him certain superhuman abilities (the Weapons Crests were keyed to Romanov DNA and, once attached to a specific person, could not be removed).

Andreas – a womaniser and hellraiser, his crest gives him throwable bio-blades. Similar in many ways to Dante, he is the closest to a friend Dante has in the Romanov dynasty. He is killed during the civil war, when he is the only Romanov to help Dante defend Rundinshtein from the Tsar's army. However he had to retreat when faced by the patriarch, who also ran Emmanuelle through with his claws. Emmanuelle Chekhov was paired with Nikolai Dante a.k.a. Nikolai Romanov, a superhuman fighter with an otherdimensional Located in another reality. rifle.Between the two of them, they were a match for the Selene family. There are so many Arbatovs that it's a Running Gag by the Arbatov Of The Week listing the various misfortunes brought upon his brothers by Nikolai that keeps getting longer. In addition to what must be around a dozen brothers, there are also three sisters, whom, of course, Nikolai ends up sleeping with. Paper-Thin Disguise: The Lord Protector's identity as Konstantin Romanov is fairly easy to deduce, since the Lord Protector's use of fusion powers and his physical size are dead giveaways. The story doesn't keep up the pretence from the reader for all that long, as he removes his helmet to reveal himself to Jocasta in the same story in which he is introduced. Lampshaded by Dmitri/Arkady when he unmasks himself on the battlefield, who notes that it was hardly difficult to deduce.

Text article. Second part titled "Tsars in his Eyes". Third part titled "The New Avengers" STARRING Vladimir uses an old Nagant revolver that has been in his family for generations to play Russian Roulette with Nikolai in the final episode.

Other Universes Adaptation

Lauren Stone – Dante's childhood sweetheart (though Dante describes her as "more like the girl next ship"). Killed during the Battle of St. Petersburg. Slavery is this for Katerina Dante. Mostly because she was born on a slave ship and her own mother died in childbirth while standing up. Pet the Dog: Unlike Dmitri Romanov, Tsar Vladimir the Conqueror actually has people that he cares about. The great love of his life was always Jocasta Romanov and he does genuinely love his daughters. It's Julianna's death that drives him to war with the Romanov Dynasty. Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits: The Rudinsh Sir Richard Hawksmoore – former Tsarist warrior turned mercenary, obsessed with Jena Makarov. He secretly conspires with Mikhail Deriabin to kidnap Jena and start a civil war between Tsar Vladimir the Conqueror and the Romanovs so they can take power when the war is over. Unfortunately for both of them, Dante goes as Jena's personal bodyguard.
