Otherwise, mince pies would be an excellent choice during the festive season. Given that Fusion carries molasses in the heart with a mince pie finish, the two would accord perfectly. Final Thoughts: “Aatma” means soul or spirit in Hindi. This Amrut is part of the Collector’s Series from the distillery. It provides the most warm afterglow, and I consider this one to be a good sipping night cap, or to enjoy with a rich meal. a b c d Poornima Mohandas (5 March 2010). "Blend it like Amrut". Livemint . Retrieved 21 June 2013. Would it be stereotypical to sample Amrut Fusion with a curry? Thinking “when in Rome”, I tried a few pairings to discover that it worked particularly well with a rich lentil Dal.

Final Thoughts: It’s on par with the regular Amrut Peated Single Malt, but obviously gives a little more in flavor. It really just depends on how bold you want to go. I say skip the unpeated Amrut single malts and just dive into any of their peated stuff. It’s not heavily peated and a novice to peated whiskies could handle this. a b "Kambipura to Edinburgh". The Amrut Fusion Single Malt is the first Indian whisky I ever had… and it is phenomenal. It’s among the most intricate, complex, and flavorful whiskies I’ve tasted recently and can easily be manipulated with water to express a myriad of flavors without destroying its essence. New flavors and aromas can easily be brought out splash by splash, making it a fun and evolving whisky drinking experience.

The classic standard Single Malt is Amrut Indian Single Malt. It is marketed without an age statement and has been matured for approximately four years before it is bottled at 46% ABV. It has sweet, full-bodied aromas of fruits, vanilla and oak. There's also a cask strength version of Amrut Indian Single Malt. Taste : The delivery, though controlled at first, is massive! Then more like con-fusion as that smoke on the nose turns into warming, full blown peat, but it far from gets its own way as a vague sherry trifle note (curious, seeing how there are no sherry butts involved) - the custard presumably is oaky vanilla - hammers home that barley - fruitiness to make for a bit of a free-for-all; but for extra food measure the flavours develop into a really intense chocolate fudge middle which absolute resonates through the palate;Amrut Fusion: Bengaluru whisky one of the world's best single malts". The Economic Times . Retrieved 19 August 2021. Nose: Orange segment and lemon peel steal the show. Almond or marzipan creeps up in the middle before cereal grain, like Cheerios, rounds out the finish. The way Neelkanta Rao Jagdale explains about how to have this divine drink shows his passion and commitment. He closes the snifter as soon as the whisky is poured and asks us to chew the drink. That’s what he recommends – “You don’t Drink it. You Eat this.” Neelkanta passed away on May 19, 2019, to join Dionysius in heaven, leaving his legacy on Earth to remain strong and brisk like his creation, Amrut Fusion. Whiskybase B.V. (“Whiskybase”, “we” or “us”, company details below) offers a whisky enthusiasts online platform that provides its members access to the most comprehensive, transparent and trusted resource of whisky bottles and allows and stimulates its members to contribute information about whisky bottles to the platform (“Service”).Palate: Again, the mouthfeel is light, however, this one is a little more oily than the previous. It’s hot, but not as other whiskies with similar ABV. Orange peel and honey mix with leather. It isn’t phenolic, and instead has a touch of leather to it. The dry oak finishes off the dram. Palate: The mouthfeel is soft, but at the same time, it comes off a bit astringent. It is faintly sweet with some cocoa like a Heath bar. The strong flavors are oak and leather, but they do not meld well together. Meanwhile, the bottle is a classic shape with a simple label that recalls the tube. While not as grandiose as the tube’s design, it’s still relatively attractive. Outlook Business". Amrut Distilleries. Archived from the original on 14 July 2013 . Retrieved 18 July 2013. Amrut Greedy Angels was a limited edition 50% abv, 8-year-old single malt whisky released in April 2013. Amrut Distilleries claims that it is the oldest Indian whisky ever produced. Its name comes from the term angels' share, the portion of whisky lost during maturation. The eight-year maturation in Bangalore resulted in a high evaporative loss of 12% per annum, or a total loss of 274 litres of spirit over eight years, from the two Bourbon casks the distillery had used. [35] When filled in 2004, the casks held approximately 360 litres of spirit. [36] Only 144 bottles or 86 litres of whisky were released worldwide. [35] Greedy Angels was dedicated to celebrate the 60th birthday of Amrut Distilleries chairman and MD, Neelakanta Jagdale. [36] Amrut Double Cask [ edit ]
