What: Venchi’s Cremino range has long been one of its most popular and it’s easy to see why when you taste the eggs. An outer layer of gianduja - made with Piedmontese hazelnuts - surrounds an inner core of white chocolate and hazelnut paste. A unique Easter treat that anyone would be very happy to receive. It’s an incredibly smooth milk chocolate that melts beautifully in your mouth. The first hit you get is definitely coconut, which gives way to leave a lingering taste of cacao. This is not the usual chocolate that’s reserved for kids. It’s really, really good. What: One of the biggest Easter eggs we’ve ever laid eyes on, this whopper from Kent-based chocolatier Cocoba weighs in at a weighty four kilograms. Gather together a few hungry mates to polish it off. Moo Free is the perfect vegan chocolate brand for kids. Its adorable characters and bite-size vegan bars make it easy for parents to give their children a chocolate treat without dairy.

What: Venchi is the last word in luxury Italian chocolate, so who better to turn to when you want the best of the best? This incredible white chocolate egg is hiding a little surprise inside - a layer of Piedmontese hazelnuts, pistachios and lightly salted almonds. Got an insatiable sweet tooth? You’ll love these super sweet vegan white chocolate Easter eggs! 6. Kakoa Iconic Vegan White Chocolate Easter Egg The chocolate has a fantastic snap, a gorgeous gloss to the shell, and notes of vanilla in the tasting. The chocolate itself is very smooth, but once that has dissolved in your mouth you’re left with very tiny flakes of cocoa nib. Not too much, not too little, just enough to set this Easter treat apart from the rest. What: There are few Easter treats more iconic than the Lindt bunny. But this is no ordinary bunny. This one-kilo gold rabbit is pretty much life-sized and comes in its own box with a strap for carrying, presumably so you carry it with you and eat bits of it throughout the day.The creamy chocolate egg is generously studded with pieces of honeycomb throughout, and the chocolate itself is very sweet. I loved the hint of sea salt which added extra pops of sweetness throughout and made it even more moreish. The chocolate has a deeply satisfying snap when you break a piece off, and the taste is on the rich, earthy side of the flavour spectrum, with woody tobacco notes. It’s just bitter enough to know that it’s a good quality dark chocolate, but doesn’t dry out your mouth too much. verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{ Whether you enjoy a dark chocolate Easter egg or a creamy vegan milk chocolate egg, there’s a vegan chocolate egg to please every palate.

What: It’s that smooth, delicious Lindt chocolate you know and love, but with a blood orange twist. This tasty LINDOR variant is new for 2023 and comes with a bunch of those absolutely sensational truffles inside - Easter isn’t complete without a few Lindt truffles is it?Romney isn’t particularly big, so this is on the more expensive side for an Easter treat, but for fans of both dark chocolate and marshmallows it’s a must. You can make the biscuit base chocolate themed for this Easter chocolate orange cheesecake by using 25g cocoa powder in the base. I prefer doing this compared to using a chocolate biscuit as I find the melted butter melted the chocolate and creates a more mushy base! The chocolate itself is perfectly tempered with a great snap, and the flavour is sublime. Made with 70% cacao Peruvian dark chocolate, it’s incredibly rich and fruity with a bitterness that allows the cocoa flavour to be the star of the show. What:A classic egg from an beloved British chocolatier, Thornton's are ever-reliable for cute Easter gifts and good chocolate into the bargain. This Easter bunny makes a great gift and it's not going to break the bank either. Thornton's will personalise eggs for you in-store as well, which is a nice touch.

It even comes with a generously-sized Honeycomb Blast bar that is super chunky – far bigger than a certain non-vegan chocolate bar! The vegan white chocolate is made using rice and oat milk so it melts with ease, filling your mouth with a buttery sweetness and creamy vanilla flavour. But what I enjoyed the most about this (apart from the cute shape), was the addition of the cocoa nibs. These are all individually wrapped in foil and have a slightly different flavour to the chocolate in the egg. The chocolate is slightly darker in colour, and the flavour is a little more fruity, with hints of dark cherry, which gives a really nice contrast to the egg itself. The Peanut Butter Jelly Nutmilk and Salted Caramel & Nutmilk truffles were particularly delicious, but in total, you have six delicious flavours to relish. For the flavouring of my Easter chocolate orange cheesecake filling I used two terry’s milk chocolate orange’s because they are classic and my favourite, but the dark or white if you can find them work just as well. You can use Cadbury chocolate orange buttons, or milk chocolate with orange extract for example! Master chocolatiers MELT, who handmake their products in London’s Notting Hill, have three luxury vegan Easter eggs to choose from this year, including the new almond milk egg. No matter how old we get, there’s something about the joy of a chocolate Easter egg that fills us with glee. Whether it’s unwrapping the foil coating or discovering the hidden treats inside, our love for Easter eggs is as strong as when we were five years old.
