However, the DT 990 PRO 80 Ohms isideal for devices with low amps, like mobile phones, laptops, portable music players, and other portable devices. I am not going to recommend the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro. It is just too broken. Even though EQ helped a lot, it is still an inefficient headphone with high distortion. If you have one, use my EQ and comment on how you like it. Otherwise it is a pass with or without EQ. Let's hope we can find a headphone as comfortable as this but with much better engineering.

DT 990 PRO: Open studio monitoring headphones | beyerdynamic

Soft ear pads and adjustable, sliding, earpieces together with a very flexible coiled cable ensure listening comfort during extended periods of use. The DT 990 PRO is an open dynamic headphone of exceptional quality suitable for the most demanding professional and audiophile applications. You can mess with that shelfing filter (Band 5) to your taste. On some content I wanted it higher, on some others, less. The latter is what I am showing here. Both the DT 990 PRO 80 Ohms and 250 Ohms have the same durable build qualityas they are almost entirely made from high-grade and durable plastic, except for their steel metal headband that suspends the ear cups, providing a secure fit. The ear cups are adjustable, replaceable, and consist of soft memory foam padding wrapped in velour for optimum comfort when playing games or listening to music for extended periods. In addition, they come with a straight tangle-free cord attached to one side for efficient frequent adjustment. Performance/sound quality: The DT 990 PRO with an impedance of 80 Ohms and sensitivity of 96dB require less power to deliver high audio levels, meaning they work well with equipment with low amplification, including mobile phones, portable music players, and other portable devices. When playing Overwatch, the sound was appropriately bombastic at moderate volume but sounded slightly shrill with high volume levels.I must say, I was surprised how this finally salvaged the headphone sound. I am listening to it as I type this and it almost sounds "normal" in a good way! Mind you, if you turn up the level too much, the warbling sound comes to haunt you but that is likely not your everyday level. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Ohms delivers better sound quality than the DT 990 PRO 80 Ohms. Microphone sound quality: How about waiting until next month? Fiio is releasing the E11 which won't cost more than 60 or so, and is mentioned to handle 300ohm loads. I'm thinking of getting a 990/32ohm for when I'm at work and the E11. I had the 600ohm.

beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro (250 Ohm) Studio Headphones | POLAR

Despite having the same frequency response range of 5Hz-35 kHz, these headphones have a great sound delivery with an excellent sense of imaging, depth, and soundstage. As a result, they are perfect for any gaming session and studio mixing, monitoring, and mastering. For decades our PRO headphones have been the reference for professional sound in recording studios all over the world. That leaves only one question: Which headphones are the right ones for you?I am always hopeful that I can fix headphones with EQ but my first two tries last night were met with failure. This headphone's main saving grace is its rather good spatial qualities. Alas, fixing the high frequency peaks and levels by eye killed that aspect and still left the nastiness that was in there at times. Any attempt to boost the bass frequencies resulted in nasty bass distortion and worse warbling sound per above.
