Aside from a couple short pages on the general formation of crystals in the introduction, there is no information on the scientific natures of minerals--no chemical makeup, specific formation, nothing. Also, keep taking your meds and receiving western medical treatment and vaccinate yourself and your kids. People who believe in the power of crystals clearly find this book indispensable, and I am glad they have a book they love. As a generally symbolic thinker, I also love to learn the associations that we humans give to various types of stone.Has information about how crystals how made, a detailed description of each crystals properties, Has references to other things, including chakras. More Information "The Crystal Bible" has become the world's favourite crystal reference guide, having sold over a million copies. All used books might have various degrees of writing, highliting and wear and tear and possibly be an ex-library with the usual stickers and stamps. I'm not terribly sciencey so I can't speak with full authority to the bits of the book that talk about the scientific facts about crystals, but they did seem fairly accurate when compared to my hazy memory of geology.

This book is a good witchy reference but I wouldn't say it's the most in-depth for magic and again, remember to keep Western medicine in your arsenal. It covers the practical and esoteric properties of each stone, including spiritual, mental, psychological, emotional and physical effects, plus its use in crystal healing.What makes it stand out from other comparable works on crystals, for me, are the amazing photographs of each of the crystals featured, not just in their tumbled form but also in their raw state. The descriptions accompanying each of the crystals provide information on their appearance, worldwide distribution, attributes, actions and healing properties required to unleash their unlimited potential. Every time this book is spot on what crystal is needed, and each and every time, the explanations given provide new insight into the ailment or issue.

I fully recommend it for anyone, whether you wish to meditate with crystals, simply love collecting them or work with them in healing. For crystals such as Agate, Calcite and Quartz which come in several different colours and/or varieties there's a section on their Additional Properties. Given the emphasis of the book, I'd have liked to see more on how the stones came to acquire the metaphysical/healing properties assigned to them e. The directory format enables you to find a known crystal instantly or to identify an unknown crystal.So not much use as an identification guide that I can see - you would need to know what particular stone you had. Also included is a detailed section on Crystal care, how to select your crystals, and how to use them, including gridding, meditation and healing applications. I was after some more information about crystals and this is the perfect pick up put down information book it is filled to the brim with all things, you may need to know.
