The cameras zero in (with help from later editing by Jackson) on George’s eyes during the creative process of the song Get Back after George is figuratively pushed to the side while Paul and John share their own epiphanies. We saw Linda’s daughter playing around in Let It Be, but she looked like a real nuisance in need of “correction” in Get Back.

Disc Three: The Beatles perform on the roof of the Apple Offices3 disc Blu-ray Collector's Set with special packaging, including four Collectible artcards. Directed by filmmaker Peter Jackson, The Beatles: Get Back is a three-part documentary series that takes audiences back in time to the band’s intimate recording sessions.

The fact that Paul was at times a rather insensitive perfectionist in how HIS songs would be performed is an understatement. One example was the exchange between Paul and John regarding a guitar riff John was to play during I’ve Got A Feeling that was supposed to slide downward gradually that John kept step-laddering from one level to the next. Perhaps when the original movie was released the song title was their way of telling us to just let The Beatles go their separate ways….

This is the major disappointment in this release, as there are no video supplements (not even a stand alone version of the rooftop concert that was released to IMAX theaters last spring, which included recent interviews with Jackson and some of the police and people on the street at the time). Anyway I finally managed to get a hold of a copy of the Blu-ray set and now that I own it and have skimmed through it I must say I am pleased as punch that I decided to get it. Reiterating that, there are over sixty hours of video and 150 hours of audio that have never been seen nor heard from The Beatles. The footage was shot on 16mm film over 50 years ago with the original intention of it appearing on television screens in 1969, which were around 19-20 inches at their largest at the time, and fairly low resolution.

I admired the fabulous restoration work, and it was fascinating history of course, but it took me FOREVER to get through all the installments.

The series offers unprecedented access to the world’s most iconic band as they prepare to record the Let It Be album. From their small venues in Liverpool to selling out stadiums through the 1960s, this four-man rock n' roll group changed the music landscape forever. A parte questo dettaglio, la presenza integrale del leggendario ‘Rooftop concert’, rende l’acquisto di questo cofanetto imprescindibile per ogni collezionista dei Beatles che si rispetti. Ringo Starr went viral over the weekend after posting a picture of his feet along with a Blu-ray copy of the film, which won for best streaming docuseries non-fiction at the Hollywood Critic’s Association’s HCA TV Awards on Sunday (Aug.Disney supports streaming its content via Disney+ and in the future that looks like it will be the only game in town folks.
