While we have taken care in preparing this summary and believe it to be accurate, it is not a substitute for reading the product packaging and label prior to use. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without Wm Morrisons Supermarkets Limited prior consent, nor without due acknowledgement. Crafted mainly from the Shiraz grape and some other grapes to give balance and freshness, it has the typical ripeness of the region - velvety, soft and voluptuous, with masses of dark fruits, black cherry, plum and blackcurrant.

This is balanced with vanilla and caramel flavours to result in a wine with good depth and intensity of flavour. A versatile wine that goes well with most dishes, it is especially rewarding with tomato based Italian and spicy Asian food. From an hour or so North of Sydney in Hunter Valley, McGuigan's seem to have perfected the art of making a wine that can appeal to everyone.

We tried this wine in a restaurant many years ago and wanting to purchase some for our home use we found York wines. It may not be reproduced in any way whatsoever without the prior consent of Waitrose Limited nor without due acknowledgement. This is a well rounded and fruity wine featuring the rich flavours of ripe plum, blackberry jam and spices. This results in an approachable fruit driven wine with great fruit characters and a persistence of flavour. I’m happy to say that snobbery was ill-informed and misplaced as this is a really excellent wine, very drinkable with or without food. Not deterred by some of the negative reviews on here, I gave this a try as McGuigan wines are usually reliable. McGuigan Black Label Red McGuigan Black Label Red is delightful aromas of cherry and blackberry fruits matched with a hint of spice. It's a great wine I was told about it after climbing a mountain and have sought it out ever since then. At first i used to have to bring it back over to England with me as I couldn't find it here but thankfully it's now in ready supply.Following this is the wonderful flavours of spicy plum, cherry and blackberry that flow through the mouth, resulting in an approachable fruit driven wine with a smooth and mouth filling finish. The description does nor indicate whether it is a Malbec, Shiraz, etc, but based on other wines I drink it is closest to a Malbec.
